Great assessment but I'm afraid you have fallen into the trap of trying to apply logic to civil service thinking.Also if they solved their cases too quickly instead of stringing them out for years they would be jeopardising careers and solid gold index-linked pensions.

SFO "just doing their job"-do me a favour-you mean just blundering around in the dark as usual-they've been sodding around for 49 months and will probably still be sodding around this time next year. They have a record of massive blunders e.g. at present being sued for $70million for their 8 year vendetta against ENRC directors but the jewel in their crown was being fined by HMRC for VAT irregularities. One Government Department fining another-even kafka would have been hard-pressed to come up with anything like that!!
They're a sick joke but as usual in the civil service when they **** it up yet again will heads roll-will they eckaslike but our company will have been severely damaged and so will we shareholders.

Now 40% below yesterday's peak-beginning to stretch credibility a little. Seems the traders/hedgies have got their hooks into us??

I'm sure you know already but the Guru on rebuilding costs is the RICS and responsible insurance companies generally use them as a yardstick. IMHO a better bet than some junior oik in an insurance company.
Treating loyal clients like dirt comes to an end at the end of this year I think when insurance companies will be prevented from such riuses as the one you quote.

Any road up I have received a response to my recent letter to Sodofsky, written by a minion of course, which to paraphrase was along the lines of "we have told you already you stupid boy on several occasions"... (two actually), and "I would again like to extend my sincerest sympathies to you for the difficult circumstances you are experiencing as a consequence of the matter under investigation." The saying "words are cheap" springs to mind.

Also the letter was supposed to enclose an informations sheet for victims and those affected by economic crime. In reality the writer just sent me a copy of my letter to Sodofsky-they can't even get simple tasks right!!
Sigh.

I or rather my employer was subject to an inspection several years ago. I duly collated heavens knows how much data, records etc. for this person who turned out to be just part-time,with a limied time budget. She ignored all the important paperwork, but fastened upon one very minor point, (which was easily remedied anyway) beat it to death then departed hastily promising to come back again to carry out the full inspection. To the day I left the company she never reappeared. Pity 'cos the Rottweiler I kept chained to my desk had taken quite a shine to her.
