The burning question has to be will the potentially positive reports produce a sustained uptick in the SP, or will it be the usual three day wonder where the mm's have a field day shafting shareholders, a scenario we have seen many times before.

We're used to megablunders by grossly incompetent Ministers and civil servants (witness the scandalous way they dished out loans TO COMPANIES WHICH WEREN'T EVEN TRADING the losses on which will probably negate the income from the porposed NIC rise) but we are entitled to expect better from our "advisors".

Another sodding P&D episode this morning- up to 4.44 at one stage then suddenly dropped 10%.
On top of gross blundering on the RNS not an auspicious morning all round.
Somtimes wonder if the BoD are asleep and totally oblivious to daily reality

The PR dept at Sareum has been AWOL for years. Confidence in this company and its BoD is now waning fast-down 10% on naff all volume is now getting past the theory of MM's slashing the price to let their mates in at bargain basement levels.
What on earth is our vast team of so called advisers/brokers etc doing for their money ditto our BoD.Surely the HNWI's must be asking questions by now having lost big chunks of cash since they were encouraged to come on board?

An extremely sanguine view if I may say so, but how you equate the holding of shares in tax efficient shelters with Sunak's raid on all taxpayers I'm not quite sure. Try being sanguine with those who do not have the benefit of share portfolios and struggle to survive from day to day but will be paying yet more tax, the burden of which on the population is at a 70 year high AND under a Tory Government, traditionally the party of low taxation.
In the meantime the government (sic) is blowing £106 billion on a railway line, a staggering science fiction£307 million per mile, which will be obsolete by the time it is finished and has been condemned out of hand by many august commercial organisations as a total waste of money.
Yes, the cost of the pandemic has to be paid for but could have been paid for easily if we had not had to suffer many years of gross mismanagemnt and waste of public money over the last two decades based on the well known civil service principal of "plenty more where that came from"

i) presumably the sp will tumble accordingly as it usually does after a div payout-a dip of such magnitude would take a lot of clawing back
ii) any div income over and above your personal allowance is taxed at 8.75% (basic) or 33.75% (higher rate)or for the very wealthy 39.35%. (these rates applicable from 6.4.22)
unless of course shares are held in an ISA or SiPP

So, you lose capital and pay tax on the "income": for example on say 5,000 shares you receive £4,000, lose £4,000 for an indeterminate period and pay HMRC £350/£1,350/£1,574.
Seems like a bit of a bum deal to me but then again my figs may be way out. I would appreciate feedback from those more knowledgeable than I.
