The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Lockie, how are they AWOL?
In terms of communication, they''re the exact opposite. They're very much present. Leading up to something IMO...but admit it feels like deja vu as it was this time last year we were placing our bets for the day we would be at least 5 x our money with the positive SPRINTER results.
But to say they're AWOL and off the scene isn't accurate.
I noticed that too - as I was going on there for my final top-up, but missed the boat as forgot it was half day trading :s
Yep. Purely anecdotally I know two young, healthy people who have pneumonia these last few weeks
xviolet - absoutely this is new territory...there is no clarity.
So much is unknown amongst medics, which is another reason I think this share could make a huge comeback - it would certainly go down in history as the most tumutulous journey for a biotech stock!
cmmw2014 - to reply to your previous question to my post - nothing I read in the review made me regret my top up at 17p last week. I wish I’d held on for the 12p opportunity we had today.
The paper told us nothing new. Baited breath as we open the RNS and a huge nothing burger again, which is disappointing.
Here’s why I’m still holding:
New hires PLUS influential people have not jumped ship. I don’t believe so many professional experts with important reputations to uphold would stay on a sinking ship. And they would KNOW if it was heading that way.
Many speak of the trope that RM et al are drifting along, twiddling thumbs and raking in a huge salary. Surely professional reputation comes into play here. Not every person is in it for a fat pay check and it’s simply not the main driver for these people, in my opinion.
I waited to see who’d left the company 7-8 months after the result (as seniors would likely need to give 6 months notice and it takes time to find other similar positions in other companies) No one left, aside from the recent natural stepping down of board member. People are JOINING this company. Because it is not a sinking ship. Signs don’t point to that (yes I know the market cap and SP don’t reflect that of a successful company right now - but we simply don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes)
The changes in communications. I’ve worked in comms for well over a decade and have been intently watching the changes they’ve made since Feb 21. It’s leading up to something. Look at the gradual changes to the website. They are speaking to a specific audience, definitely the US and it’s been ramping up over the past few months. There’s a strategy in place and I believe there is something that has not been announced currently going on - discussions maybe, but I think agreements have been made but not yet spoken about.
The pull back on the SP is puzzling and the full reason - none of us know. An RNS comes out and we have baited breath, and it’s nothing new - right before Xmas! Shaky hands, and those who’ve been holding for almost a year - may have chosen to have some certainty/use the loss as a tax write off.
If I’m proven wrong then I’ll hold my hands up and have to consider my emotional attachment to this stock, which I have grappled with in the past when investing - as I have close family who passed with respiratory diseases, and I know this could be completely game-changing for those acutely suffering.
But until then I’m holding, keeping my wits about me and hoping for a better more prosperous 2023.
Nail on the head there dunk
Such an angry little man
“Now listen very carefully…” like you are all-knowing and so superior to the rest of us on here.
Aware I’m feeding him and he wants to make people as angry and as hateful as he is.
Applying my filter and he can shout into the abyss
Good luck to LTH and those who have maintained an element of grace and decency despite the acute stress holding this stock has inevitably caused.
Like the negative, endlessly snarky uncle one seeks to spend as little time as possible with at Christmas!
What is his game?
Seriously. He’s not invested anymore in this stock.
King narcissist that he is, just enjoys rubbing salt in wounds and being a generally unpleasant human being.
Really regretting the average down I did at 17p last week
Andy, what’s in it for you to spend your time posting about this stock when you’re no longer invested?
Are you like a bitter ex who can’t let go. Genuinely interested.
Wigster, you get the prize. That was splendid!

*functional illness
Fruits, I was referring to chronic fatigue syndrome. I may not have used the correct abbreviation, sorry. But yes a lot of these illnesses are viewed this way. They’re in the fibromyalgia- ‘functional I’ll was’ category.
I believe my spouse did change their mind after I personally had Long Covid for almost a year, and they were off for 6 months with it, but they do still attribute it to mental health difficulties manifesting as fatigue etc.
What the trial with Synairgen s proves, or should prove in the medical community, is that LC (as well as the others) is not something people just need to pull themselves out of with a bit of positive thinking.
I just hope this isn’t the reason LC trial data isn’t getting the attention it deserves.
IMO a positive result in LC trial should be all over the media , as LC is a serious health problem and huge strain on NHS resource in the U.K. I hope the attitudes within medical communities aren’t halting this
Isn't the reality of this more that Long Covid, along with ME, CF aren't perceived as a 'real health issue' like cancer or heart disease, by the medical community at large. And one that would warrant huge investments from big pharma?
Just putting it out there, and speaking as someone married to a medic who believes these illnesses are 'all in the mind'
Sadly, I believe it's a societal change that is needed.....and until then, well LC IS important but I'm not holding my breath for my SNG losses to recoup based on this :(
Aether - I had plans to do the same regarding market correction.
What kind f blue chip companies would you invest in? Examples? Just genuinely curious as have had this same thought process
Andybe. Seriously. You sound like the most hateful human being.
Is your ego/self-esteem so fragile that you have to keep posting “I told you so” on here for a little boost?
Well done Andy, clever boy *slow claps*
Nice opportunity for a small top-up.
I know the saying once bitten twice burned rings true here BUT…
there is a business need for this role, why put this out right now? Given the disastrous big hires followed by bad news (of which they had no control over) they would not wish to put shareholders through this trauma again. If the market is wary now, imagine after round II?
No, this speaks to the inner hope we have which is they have been furiously working behind the scenes since 21 Feb and something big is coming up.
I for one, when things have felt particularly difficult, think of Sir Stephen Holgate “we know it works” and the confidence I felt in this company to invest as highly as I did.
Keeping everything crossed and looking forward to Thursday.
