If it is, then they skipped a few RNS regarding transfer etc. so I'd be surprised, but will happily take positive news asap, Monday really hurt (on paper only).
It takes time, and I don't think many of us really appreciate the enormity of what they are aiming to achieve and what it takes to get there. The story hasn't changed at all, there has not been a silver bullet yet or even anything close. The world is bleeding as bad as ever: when was the last day US didn't have 100k+? 142k yesterday. UK consistently 20k+ daily, France had 86k in a day last week etc. Quite possible that these are a long way from new daily highs. Everybody is becoming numb to those numbers, and I think it showed on Monday with the Pfizer vaccine. It was one big PR gig and it made everybody positive and thought it was over. Spoiler: it isn’t. Vaccines won't be rolled out to a major portion of the general population before a year at the earliest, and only that’s how vaccines can really solve this. It’s not about you and me being safe after having the vaccine, this is about the big picture. Any sort of cheap instant test is also still not available. All these other (neither cheap or instant) tests have validated their data on a few 100s, if Avacta smash the 10k validation and tech transfer with capacity to produce millions weekly they should become a household name overnight. The people in charge know this. People won’t hesitate to do a test, while rushed experimental vaccines are another story.
If you think about it it is all about perception and what we know from the past. How was Smallpox, Polio, Measles, etc.? History is full of vaccine success stories. Nobody seems to think about how long this all took, these were slow solutions, millions died over long periods of time. On the other hand, nobody thinks about how STDs are under control in adult actors, they test all the time. Obviously nobody talks about that. It may become the new normal for a few years.
To the layperson who doesn’t think about the big picture, vaccine is the silver bullet that solved all these deadly diseases so this is what will solve this too (it might eventually, but this is more likely to be measured in years not months). This is though why any vaccine news are getting blown out of proportion, if you ask me.
Even if the Avacta test only happens in a month or two or three, it has all chances to be a major success. Nothing guaranteed of course. As investors you should want disruptive tech, and I think Affimers are why we are all in here (+ pre|CISION…). Hoping it goes down before the end of the year, but the timeline doesn’t care about what you or I think when it should be ready. Getting things right takes time. Science takes time. Nothing is ever linear. BAMS or other news would be a welcome support to tie us over until then.

Did they ever email anybody who signed up to their email list? Why not, I wonder what that's about. Maybe they are waiting for the real Avacta test? I'm sure many of us here signed up to their mailing list a few months ago.
This whole Medusa-19 thing is really an odd one, not sure what to make of it. After all the ups and downs, the obvious silence, strange website updates, then the RNS distancing Avacta from RSPT. If their RSPT really was really that game changing, clearly it would have made some sort of an impact in any way since being announced a few days ago (and gosh, that announcement was poorly written)... Which it has not. No mention from Gov or anything.

Yes that work predates the RNS linking Avacta to LSTM. The preprint was posted here https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.07.09.20149534v1 (11 July, and RNS in August). Nevertheless, more supporting evidence for saliva is good.

Affirmatively sure it‘s affimer, and not affirmer. It‘s as if you owned Apple stock and you keep saying Marc instead of Mac.
Exciting times ahead, hard to keep track of all the potential now. Good on the older holders and welcome to the new ones. I suspect another manufacturing partner to be the next RNS, but my guess is as bad as the next one. Have a good week-end all.

"You will receive your test result 2 days after your home test sample
is collected. However, due to the volume of tests, it may take longer to get back to you."
This is not good enough, not sure it‘s even worth bothering with this. People are having a hard time sticking to social distancing and isolation already. It seems like a whole operation collecting the sample too. Avacta/instant saliva tests are really needed.
Don‘t think this has been posted yet, just keep seeing that image of someone holding it on twitter. Not sure this is a pregnancy style test as it says to send by mail...

Here are the job ads. Production Technician for example:
"Department - Rapid Test"
"...You will support the team by taking ownership of the preparation and assembly of rapid test subcomponents within the laboratory."
"Your main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
-Manufacture of Rapid Tests sub components
-Service, calibration and operation of key production equipment associated with the manufacture of Rapid Tests and Components
-Labelling, reconciliation, packing and finishing of Rapid Test components"
I agree the concept/execution is poor from what we can see so far. Since it‘s the only thing other than RNS information that‘s publicly available it let‘s our imaginations go wild as to what may be going on behind the scenes and it‘s disappointing. Apologies, I did not mean to sound offensive. The whole Medusa thing is just frustrating from both sides, us trying to figure it out (people thinking it’s Med USA lol) and also them making it look like it‘s a high school project.

From Wikipedia
"In Greek mythology, Medusa (/m?'dju?z?, -s?/; ??d??sa "guardian, protectress")"
What‘s not professional about naming a company intended to sell products that will help defeat the pandemic after a guardian? The logo is clearly meant to be symbolising the Medusa head... And there has been RNS info about Medusa collaboration a while back, so I don‘t think it "will represent nothing to us as it is". Nobody can predict the future, but it seems people on here can‘t even seem to get ancient (or recent RNS) references right. No surprise the good posters (and readers) are getting flushed out. It‘s getting more and more painful to keep up with all the clutter xD or the repetitions (because of the clutter) especially given the format of the threads within the share chats which is abysmal to begin with.
good luck all the long time holders / lurkers

Yes but could M-19 LS be producing their own affimer-based test? AS keeps saying more partners needed to scale up production. Cytiva developed a test with Avacta, now they are share the knowledge with other companies (BBI...) to be able to produce more. But no idea what M-19 LS is meant to be since it just popped up.
Something is going on for sure. As a LTH, I‘m excited about next week (something I tell myself every Friday dreading the week-end wait)
I‘ve always wondered about this, I don‘t think Nasdaq = unicorn because of being a biotech. Always had TILS/TLSA Tiziana Life Sciences in mind ever since people were floating the AVCT dual listing musings. They are dual listed and aren‘t in the billions (especially not before COVID). Just a thought, it‘s not that easy. Let‘s not put the horse ahead of the cart. The patient will hopefully be rewarded, and I understand the wait is the hardest part and being filled with speculation on the boards. Keep holding on.

Sure, but people act in the present, and possibly irrationally when emotions are high. Seeing -9% in the morning after a red day will make people flinch (and impulse sell when they were “planning to hold until 1000”), when they would be less jumpy on -2%. It’s the equivalent of seeing £99.99 price tags making you believe something is cheaper than £100 when it’s really not and you make an impulse buy.
The closing price yesterday was because of a 1 share trade at 136 when it was much lower around 129 at COB, so the % drop this morning is artificially high (maybe aimed at making people panic more?) when it is only 1-2% right now.
