The next U.K. general election isn’t likely to be until summer 2029. By that time Trump will no longer be US president, so the influence of his support for Reform will be reduced.
In terms of Reform’s policies on renewables, well they can’t just get rid of wind farms, solar or other non-fossil-fuel energy sources. Our current energy supply is about 44% renewables right now so that’d be madness unless unless we want no power for 10 hours a day.
Oil-funded reform hat renewables and they hate that the UK capacity is growing significantly every year as new solar and wind farms come on line. If elected, they might stop construction of bew clean energy farms, but by that point we’ll alrrady be getting close to 70-75% of our energy from them anyway.
