17.00 it was very lucrative. 1k a week was acheivable, but the hours long and at times conditions brutal with 90-100k miles per annum easily covered. Once youthful exuberance expired and professionalism set in, selection of the right equipment made life a bit more comfortable and practical. I consider myself as lucky as in the 6 years I did it only minor incidents and a few diesel spills, however some colleagues and pals paid the ultimate price. Law of averages said a major accident was imminent for me, so I decided to quit while still in one piece.

Social media can be a damaging thing, but it demonstrates how far forward we have come with technology. Back in the mid 80's I worked as a courier delivering reams of print-off into brokers not only city but country-wide. People would read the FT over breakfast, call or visit their broker and instruct a trade which took hours to fill. We now sit with a device and place trades in seconds on the strength of access to markets and media. Yesterday's flurry stemmed from media.

I did think PANR would attract along with 88 rise but seems the opposite.
Might crack a beer tonight, but I'll save the single malt for next week. Monday should be interesting....!

Laverda I wish all market trends were as predictable. Still 40 mins. to go, let's hope they don't do too much damage lol.

11.51 a lot of sweaty fingers poised over the sell button....In my limited knowledge I would say between 3 and 4pm will see it light up with a possible rise in 88 purchase. A safe haven for the weekend?

If I am watching the same, then Friday is sell day apparently. That might release funds and pile into this.

16.02 Maybe Dave has led to his own agenda and a fresh look once he's gone will better their plan, but that won't help pacify if this year's work goes belly up. I came in long-term but am starting to get a bit despondant with it, and lack of communication by 88 doesn't help.

I've been in for over 5 years, and learnt from the first couple of winters not to read into Dave's spin too much.
This current situation needs to be factual and truethful, as I don't think the LTH will put up with much more dross. Perhaps Dave realises that 88 need to bag for all those that have held and topped up irrespective. After all, arn't they deserving for their investment?

Personally I would not be surprised if he took a u turn on the pipe-line as well, as Mr. Trudeau does have a strong economical case to present. IMHO the line could be decommissioned once demand dwindles, and mother nature would repair the scars. The enviromental cost of hauling it by road (because it will be extracted...) would be high just with co2 levels.

A sharp dip cost me a good percentage on a stop-loss. 2 hours later the share bounced back and I had to forget it. Have bought back in though. HL hold my accounts and as one poster put up today peak times and fast moving shares are at times difficult to place. Perhaps it's time to upgrade into a premium platform...

I think my biggest problem is not being able to monitor or access my accounts during trading time, as my industry is pretty full on 8 till 5. Tried stop losses, upper limits but found it difficult to find a happy medium.
I tend to place higher risk in my trading account and then transfer into my SIPP any profit. My methods may seem a tad "school-boy" to those of you working within the industry so advice always welcome!

Trading....mmm. Maybe dabbling is a better choice of word lol. The last 12 months has seen more red than blue, but hopefully the next 12 months will see some return to normality and bolster my SIPP. Went into 88 for the long haul, made my choices so fingers crossed.
