The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
(a) Page 2 of the updated June 20 presentation again underlines my being out of touch. Things have silently moved along and require reinspection: Milagro refinery's (highlighted) existence is a new surprise although vaguely aware of # 8's revival.
. . . very welcome if it's going to be our next development although in the Saramuro firing line;
(b) Today's BoE unimaginative sledgehammer blow is likely to have an impact on the LSE in the medium term;
(c) A complaint to Halifax on 25% tax has not had the desired result: they shelter behind Crest so I'll have to take another look at the rules. Another 10% subtraction was unexpected.
A) ?? Premium (on Brent) still being applied
b) Not expecting any fireworks on p/f for several months owing to global malaise
c) I now better understand farmout policy on #105 (>$450m capitalisation)
d) ?? M&A ... Is Lot 8 still in Manolo's sights

Manaus Rio Negro levels okay. Marginal increase, if anything.

Has there been any effort to export production. Perhaps I have missed company notifications on the subject. Or are export permits unobtainable ?
Cape Town and Saldanha are obvious targets followed by Port Elizabeth and Durban. Uruguay would also be a nearby market.
I had great expectations for the medium term and now question if a degree of incompetence applies.
@ 21:01 Agreed. Load of irrelevance. To resume normal service I offer
a) Bumbo which is still in the company preamble. Mineralisation in the district is significant but is being bypassed because of complexity and overwhelming WK drilling targets.

b) Kiboko in the Ramula camp is a neglected mine area, presumably because it dates back to colonial days. Mistakenly overlooked.

Sonat premium doing quite well today.
Hopefully SOUC will have another leg up tomorrow.
Captain1 - As you are based in Vancouver I suggest you give one or two Canadians a call. Some names are listed below. JSE has been a diminishing force ever since Maari fell through. (Paul Blakeley should have given clearer signals leading up to the final NZ rejection.) Also, ageing FPSOs are notoriously prone to defects. Turning this ship around may take several months.
I suggest Ryan Heath (in lieu of his brother, Graham), Garry McMurren, Calgary, and Shubham Garg as a starting point. The first two named will give you indicators for their respective acreages in Alberta and JeffersonDavis Co., Missi, respectively.
I reduced on JSE in the 90s because of advanced years, having decided turnaround wasn't going to be a quick fix. And I a sure steeply rising CoL factors are no different in BC. Perhaps you can chew it over on the StanleyPark waterfront gazing across the bay or up the TortureTrail on Grouse Mountain.
@ 08:42 - Together with his sidekicks (Fachin, Tacuri) Pérez has made it clear that he wants control of the community fund; it has always been his objective. He has no native connection with Puinahua, the tribe or its language/dialect. Calls are being made for him to be put away for 10 years. Having failed to stir up trouble in Iquitos he transferred activities to Requena.
Organising a rentamob in a jungle is a challenge: boats, fuel, guns, interpreters and a fistful of soles. River piracy is not unknown. Cutting off the snake's head may obviate a naval gunboat requirement.

BCRP clearly agitated.

James Pérez yet again at the root of the action although he seems to be orchestrating it from Requena. Also clearly not short of wherewithal if it was he who put up the drone. Time to clip his wings.

Planned quayside and midstream dredging at Bretana is a strong indication of future increased loads. The current satellite view at Manaus is also interesting: zeroing in on berth points shows up one or two hefty >20k barrel barges.

1) Having noted a"tanker" east of Iquitos yesterday it led me to check annual tidal differential on the Ucayali. It seems to be 6 m approx (but could be merely guesswork).

Optimistically there is no reason not to test the route to Manaus during "high tide".
2) In view of a drilled hole in the ONP pipe it suggests that Petroperu will suffer permanent hits from organised crime. Any pipeline proximity close to a road or navigable river is a means to transport stolen barrels overnight. Byebye Talara for the time being . . ..

Some recent Gwinville production figures shown above.
Have been adding when possible to SOUC. Will be happier when back in the 50s. SOU/TSX going quite well today.

Florida Gas Transmission sales point (as per RNS) is a new detail. Question: does this conduit add an important catalyst to summer AC uptake?

Generally keeping a regular check on outages although Ilja has not raised any red flags over Eskom. Colleagues in SA report continuing difficulties despite adopting HD batteries and solar; the stuff gets nicked.
Kariba is steadily filling but current effects down at Ngezi are unknown.
Conditions in SA are not good. Today I learn of another acquaintance throwing in the towel: he is moving his family to Ireland and establishing a solar panel business there.
De Ruyter managed to escape the mafia and many would have read the following report:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-65671718
A) Three more day's production logged (until 28/05)
b) I follow Marine Traffic link for NorthSea ops - ENQ, IOG, KIST, SQZ, etc - and note our barges are not GPS controlled/monitored.
https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-69.2/centery:-3.6/zoom:6
Whilst not concerned about double-hulled barges occasionally grounding, previous mention of cargoes in close convoy (minus GPS) is another matter. By comparison most vessels on the Missi, which suffered seriously low river levels last summer, are equipped. I would think convoy habits on the Amazon-Ucayali are best avoided.
The link above does serve a purpose: today it shows three tankers berthed at Manaus. Any absence will indicate service interruption.
