RE: China bankrolls Africa railroad15 Aug 2023 08:09
Saw that part about Vale and China last week. It is promising especially as it seems Vale do need more projects to increase revenue and compete with their peers.
We need something here to get the share price moving again. Anything that mentions Zanaga or RoC directly and it will be back to the teens. Wondering how far we are from finishing the first trance of this funding deal now too.
RE: China willing to spend billions in Africa on infrastructure15 Aug 2023 08:05
I agree. The more I read the article, the more I wondered. It seems Guinea is rated as more stable than RoC and Simandou a better mine than Zanaga. Zanaga still has huge value and cheaper to develop though. The sooner Simandou is up and progressing the better for us, IF the Chinese want Zanaga too. They may want to get that going before starting another large project. In the meantime there is constant news coming out from the Middle East with regards to investing in mining and minerals. I hope they just throw money at Nguesso and Zanaga and get a deal done before the Chinese.

To be honest I am losing hope here. The share price is a disaster. The management team are totally out of their depth. Not sure they are capable of doing anything with Zanaga.
Hu Wangming, chairman of the group, held a face-to-face meeting with Eduardo Bartolomeo, Vale’s chief executive officer, at Baowu’s headquarter Shanghai
The world’s largest steelmaker China Baowu Steel Group Corporation has held talks with Brazilian iron ore miner Vale on potential opportunities for future cooperation.

It means Vale SA could potentially invest the proceeds in iron ore which is their main business. Zanaga would feed the steel hubs in UAE. Separately it shows the Saudis are keen to play a global role in mineral production themselves. Ma'arden could even be an option for Zanaga. Admittedly these are indirect or speculative links at present but it is encouraging to see the Middle East/Vale newsflow. AD Ports are also involved with the Vale steel hub too.
