US pharmaceutical giant Merck is scrapping a planned £1bn expansion of its UK operations, saying the government is not investing enough in the sector.

The multi-national business, known as MSD in Europe, said it would move its life sciences research to the US and cut UK jobs, blaming successive governments for undervaluing innovative medicines.

A listed company is forced by government regulation to employ PR, Nomad, Lawyer, Accountant, etc, etc. It's not done out of choice and the more those advisers are used.....the more they cost. And they charge like wounded bulls.

I'd like to know why CC and the board appointed Yulii Bogatyrenko....Advisor, Business Development. At first glance you'd say he and Simon Bennett would be standing on each others toes but as SB hasn't been fired after nearly two years - on an eye-watering salary - I'm assuming his job is safe. So why the almost duplicate role? I'll not speculate because I don't want to see the board obsessive ranting about pom-pom girls. Bad for his health.

I think you might all be underestimating the IP/Patent rights accorded to Avacta for the Affimer technology. Avacta authorised the transfer of an IP license for the use of Affimers to Daewoong to buy its original 25% in the AffyXell start-up.......and another license to Point/Eli Lilly.

GSA owe 2.7million shares so when does it start buying, to repay the debt?

If they are in the market tomorrow morning, trying to make a substantial dent in the 2.7m the price will be straight up to £1.

GSA alone is guaranteeing the Avacta share price is not BAU.

Has there ever been a better example of - in a hole, stop digging.

Didn't Lee Cranmer comment on this to CC......AVA 6000 is killing everything in its path. I think he used vesicant although I'm not convinced that's the correct term anyway.
