Hi Jake. It's strange how SMS managed to get the contract to come up with the solution regarding the SM1 to SM2 conversions for DEC. I Didn't have SMS down as having the capability...I thought they just leased out meters ....looks like they are doing well.. not sure if they will be providing DEC with a solution that covers just one region or the entire country.

Mandated to manage the data and communications network for Britain’s smart meters, the DCC has been using SMS Plc’s base in Cardiff since April 2018 as it looks to finalise its systems ahead of the nationwide roll out of next-generation SMETS2 meters.

Testing at the lab is being conducted to ensure that all the original SMETS1 smart meters (currently being installed as part of the government’s Smart Metering Implementation Programme) maintain full functionality when adopted and enrolled into the new DCC data network. This will ensure that these first-generation meters remain ‘smart’ if a consumer decides to switch energy supplier in the future."

This made me laugh. Good old Goa, moving forward with new technology, introducing new Smart Meters to stop electricity theft ..can anyone guess how they are going to do it? Let's just say if it works, It will be a revolution in thinking and save a few billion around the world.

Hi LT, Yes. I also hope something significant happens soonish.... I don't think I could take another eight years.

You might want to have a read of this research paper,significantly two senior engineers from L&T have put their name to it, and it was published in August 18....so pretty recent.....the L&T engineers also look like they are involved in the Mysore pilot, India. They compare RF and GPRS communication and come to the conclusion that although RF gets 100% result in their communication test....with GPRS, in comparison recieving a slightly lower score ( on average maybe 1-2%, on average ) in communication success with meter......the engineers still rate both RF & GPRS methods of communication as successful

This from August 18 regarding Siguri West Bengal. It looks like the 5,000 meters are connected now, as accounted for in my earlier post as implemented in 2018.... There will be a one year pilot before they decide to add more, which takes us to end of 2019.!....India doesn't stand any chance of getting even close to it's rollout targets....GL Vas

Irrrespective of use by individual feeders would not only be quicker, but then energy spend and charging etc monitoring can be accurate via each individual, cutomer per feeder
. I belive that is where the mesh network would come into its own.

Nt believery only 200000 smart meters have so far Been deployed....so yes rf has done well in comparison to others...
But, again everything takes so long .....we could be months or years away from a meaningful payback in India.

There must be some time limit that an announced order book of $100 million can be allowed to remain valid. What if this number is repeated, or even increases over the next three years without any sign of actual revenue....it becomes meaningless and damages other news that is , as confidence in what is announced drops..

FinnCap also read, I guess believed and have been waiting for the $100 million order book, (which was announced a year ago ) to show its pretty face, plus a $300 million further opportunity pipeline to be explored in 2018....( I guess, or why else would they mention it , at this time). That's a max potential of $400 million on the horizon a year ago. It will be interesting to see the actual reality......that's where the real life intervenes....let's wait for the facts.

Thanks for pointing this out Ray. There is a lot I need to learn here...and I'm sure I will not understand a lot of it. But IF scancells combo trials prove successful..then scancell will be able license the technology to Merck and others ...if they're not taken out altogether.

My question as somebody trying to understand the current situation regarding the immunology challenge / race is....

Just as Merck have the Keynotes platform that underpinnes their immunology offerings ...Do most large pharmas have their own distinct platforms ....on which they pin their hopes.....if so, are they ALL unique or are many similar to each other...and what exactly does Scancells offering sit in comparison..is Scancells offering distinctly unique to other pharmas products....is Scancels offering a totally new approach? Apologies for such a basic question but I don't have the broad knowledge to "place" scancells achievements, in relation to the competition. Many thanks in advance. Vas

It would be appropriate ...as the UK is heading for an extremely long bear market .....

Like hundreds of small company's on AIM that are valued at a few pence but promise a few pounds.....why is it that only a few investors can see this? What about the rest of the market, the funds, the specialised investors..are they blind, stupid or accurately aware that its still to early to call.....I dont know but on paper it looks good ....if it plays out according to some people's script. The old adage that there is Always a cheaper time to buy an AIM share is sadly very true....saying that I've bought some....and ill now sit and wait. Gl All
