BTW why were Wsg a last minute choice for Tema? Normally the scan company are decided 6-18 months in advance- not 2 weeks

What do you guys think of Fowler’s one eyed interpretation of Iran?
He gives the impression of Complete ignorance of the wider (political) despite high level advice from HMG. If he had announced contract confirmation in feb18 did he believe that he would subsequently be able to implement it?

Similarly he had little awareness of the developing gpha MPs negotiations and risk of delays back in June 19. Maybe he does not like reading newspaper/social media- Wsg were a last minute/ emergency choice in Tema afterall

Iran was Fowler’s piece de resistance imho.
It was of long duration 2015 to date.
He hid the location based on the highly committed client’s request and asked us to trust in his judgement. He provided detail of a 25m euro contract for 25 years with only minor details left to resolve.

All we had to do was trust him.

Tema is less of an obvious scam- who cares if he calls it a formality and it fails- fowler realises there is no consequence of failure- he was remunerated £310k last year despite the Iran and ferry denouement

Good stuff mike- yes Ghana shipping authority data on imports the vast majority via Tema. Obviously Takoradi is primarily a commodity export hub

Mike- GSA data show imports are down 16.9% in the fourth quarter. I do not know export data

It’s a damp squib even if they secure the contract. The first time in years that there is not a 300m project opportunity on the horizon aka Iran or ferry

It’s at times like these that we should re-watch Fowler’s two podcasts. They are reassuring that are future prosperity is in safe hands

Mike- we are waiting for financial arrangement between gpha and mps.
MPs are the provider and gpha will commission the specification of the service
Scanport and wsg are providing a scanning service for terminal 3, with customs doing their own scan analysis. Nick tc scan are the scan provider for T2 ie wsg are not the sole scan provider
It’s still to all to play for, but it will depend on what gpha, and the ultimately the freight carriers, are willing to pay for

Presumably Scanport does the scan
