Fuel Providers Will Scale Up SAF Production

Current levels of domestic SAF production are approximately 4.5 million gallons per year, with the industry poised to grow rapidly. To meet the challenge of scaling up to billions of gallons over a decade, both policy support and producer commitments will be critical to driving domestic innovation and deployment. Scaling up domestic SAF production will involve a wide variety of different feedstocks and pathways, and the industry will continue to explore a diverse set of options, including the potential to convert biofuels such as ethanol into jet fuel. To help achieve our 2030 goals, several fuel providers have announced domestic SAF production targets:
• LanzaJet plans to produce 1 billion gallons of SAF per year 2030 from ethanol derived from waste sources by Alcohol-to-Jet processing.
• World Energy plans to produce 150 million gallons of SAF per year by 2024 from fats, oils, and greases by hydroprocessing.
• Gevo plans to produce over 150 million gallons of SAF per year by 2025 from crop residue to ethanol by Alcohol-to-jet processing.
• Fulcrum plans to produce more than 33 million gallons of SAF per year by 2022 from MSW processed by Fischer-Tropsch processing.
• Velocys plans to produce 300 million gallons of blended SAF per year from waste woody biomass and MSW processed by Fischer-Tropsch processing.
• Additional recent and new announcements of potential SAF production scale-up include those from BP, Virent, Honeywell, Shell, Neste, Marquis, Green Plains Inc., ADM, Prometheus, Aemetis, and members of the Renewable Fuels Association and members of Growth Energy.

The pop started around 4pm with some modest buying, but some big trades came in just before the close.
Perhaps it was Canadian buying in the UK.................... The price is up to C$0.29 =17.3p on

The new front end configuration will be:-
Mobile Primary Jaw Crusher and
Secondary Cone Crusher, Duty & Standby

› New, Smaller and Quieter Screens
› XRT Ore Sorters Rejecting 70% of Feed

The concentrator process will involve:-
67% to Coarse Circuit:
- Primary Dense Media Separator
- Secondary Dense Media Separator
- Scavenger Dense Media Separator
with 33% to Fines Circuit
› Spirals & Tables

Then the concentrator dressing will encompass use of the existing kiln in Phase 1 and in
Phase 2 it will move to a Kiln & new Custom Built Hydrometallurgical Facility for Alkali Leaching.

My guess is that the latter is what is being considered for Plymouth free port.................

Production begins second half of calendar 2022, the aim is to start 12 months from financing; but no doubt there is considerable pressure to bring that forward if possible. I will be keeping my ear to the ground from July 22 onwards.
So in mining terms -not far off at all.

For tin, TW will produce concentrate which will then need smelting. It is likely this will involve shipping containers to the Far East. Inefficient if you want the resulting tin to be available for the UK market as it would mean shipping it back again. And shipping costs are now high with delays thrown in. So the industry and Government is looking into how smelting could be done in the UK. Cornwall has a surplus of intermittent power from turbines and panels, which may be brought to bear, on an as when available basis. Given the time to ship to Asia and back, the alternative i.e. waiting for the sun to shine and wind to blow all to excess in Cornwall , may not be the disadvantage it seems.
For tungsten, there are several stages in the process. TUN is looking into setting up a plant in Plymouth to undertake at least one of those stages.
My guess is that TUN will need more scale to make a plant viable. However that scale may be achieved by processing for others - There are mines in Spain Portugal which fit into that category. TUN is fortunate to have a a global scale resource and so logically it may be best to have onward processing near to Hemerdon, rather than near other producers.
TUN is fortunate to have the tax free port of Plymouth nearby in which it could house the facility. All exciting stuff for those seeking to promote UK resilience.

But if our BoD do not pass muster with financiers, then our assets will have a value to others who will be acceptable. Our market cap is the markets valuation of the business as a whole.- Not a lot!- And perhaps an opportunity for those who can raise finance, e.g. BoD of CUSN and TUN

Fira Four years from production starting when the dewatering finance is raised. That and the BFS costs will require a raise of about £20m-£25m. Thereafter CUSN hope to raise project and other finance and not return to shareholders. So we are talking a small sum in City terms, to unlock potentially hundreds of millions of, after-costs, after-tax cash return. Shouldn't be too hard a sell, especially as tin has rocketed in value this year and looks set to continue to do so. Meanwhile, exploration at United Downs , Carnkie, etc continues with two drilling units hard at it, providing results which may confirm a second economically viable resource which may be unlocked fairly quickly if the area around the existing Wheal Maid decline is proven viable.
Relative to discounted after tax etc NPV, these shares look very significantly undervalued, and drilling results, funding news or acquisitions in the tin space, make prove to be a catalyst for re-rating.

There is now only 2 days worth of global demand left in both the LME and Shanghai futures exchange. The suggests that any increase in demand could push the price up substantially. Those companies sat on significant reserves are likely to become more valuable and attractive. CUSN is clearly one of those companies.

Yes that is right CL are looking to do far more. In year one they envisage 500 tonnes from Brine and 10,000 tonnes from hard rock extracted using the Lepidico method. Thereafter they will ramp up lithium from brine. Maiden resource will be coming in the next 7-8 days if they are able stick to their guidance. As I wrote before this is all a fast moving feast-dates/ tonnages/ depths extraction rates etc all in a state of flux. With immense pressure to get up and running as fast as possible our numbers etc may soon be out of date.

Thanks for the info. My understanding is the CL will be looking to produce around 500 tonnes Lithium Carbonate per annum from brine in 2025 (for now its intended first year of operation) and around 10k tonnes from hard rock - but the latter would not be using the roasting method, but the Lepidico method. But all this is a fast moving feast which may be speeded up if HMG intervenes ................
