Nah, they're just generally rubbish... I had a 20 minute conversation with them after receiving a letter charging me £60 for closing my account. I never closed it but I did transfer out my USOP stock to simply stockbroking. They couldn't quite get their heads around the fact that moving a stock is not the same as closing the account. Naturally they won't see me for dust anyway, even if they give me 100k in credit as they have behaved very badly over the months in relation to USOP (eg closing out open positions ahead of settlement dates) - I have no doubt that they are working with WINS and I shan't be going anywhere near them. I would recommend that you all do the same.

you both called it spot on. I never dipped my toe here despite being briefly hypnotised by the spike last week - basically through my ignorance over who IPSO are and what they actually do! Many people would have got caught out and it's such a crying shame. A bit like buying a house without even bothering with a survey then discovering you've got dry rot after you've completed. It's a painful lesson and one I have learnt from in the past - I hope those who jumped in use it to expand their knowledge of how the mm's work.
