NATO did promise to not encroach. If you were a scholar (but alas you aren't) you would know that when RU pulled out of East GER the American's didn't even dare let any troops move into East GER in case this triggered the Russians. They knew what was implied.

Do you really think its acceptable for NATO to destabilise and bribe a nation on Russias doorstep without retort? Ukraine is the bridge into Russia from Europe. A route used in many invasions already dating back 100s of years. Russia would be INSANE to allow its enemies to control it. Putin is bound by law to stop this.

America wants to station missiles there. Thats why it pulled out of the missile pact (sigh). Missile systems that can be quickly adjusted to take out Russias launching ICMB's.
