My sentiments exactly. If a vigilant back office did their jop properly then it would in effect not work. I think that is the point I was trying to raise. also like you I have always thought that it is the most underhand of practices. if you don't believe in a company or investment then people should not invest.

Shorting only can exist if there are stock lenders and a inept settlement system that is not fully regulated. onmho

Nowadays it makes it more important than ever to have a robust back office. For example once a transaction is executed . settlement details are exchanged between both counterparties. No flannel in terms of delaying a trade to be booked out/ settled due to settlement details. I. e. Back/middle office awaiting client settlement details.

I may be out of touch with current legislation and normal broking practices, but short selling is very difficult inmv for the following reasons.
Most brokers will not sell stock unless you are already holding the equity. Most will not sell for above t3. The old days if you had a certificate then it was more possible as the share certificated needed to be de-materialised
My understanding in the past is automatic buying procedures would be instigated if stock as not available to settle the transaction.
Any broker carrying positions that do not settle on settlement day are required to put margin up at a huge cost nowadays which in turn would be passed onto the client.

So in summary unless a shorter has the original shares or is able to borrow the shares from a accredited stock lender then I cant see how this is beneficial in terms of omega. After all we are a aim stock.

inmo the company has done the right thing in putting this rns out. It underscores what existing investors already know whilst adding official validation to the presentation. By doing this new investors can be more confident in the credibility and validation of the presentation.

The icing on the cake would be a further collaboration with the burnet institute

Not really you are dealing with a government that have advisors in bed(so to speak ) with large pharmas. they are also after honours after covid together with directorship inmv. You already have one that just resided over one of the nhs biggest mess ups. The other government advisor north of the border inmo is much more trustworthy

I personally do not give any credence to what that thing days. She oversaw two calamities and more recently nhs app fiasco. My guess is that she will now overseas another fiasco during the next couple of months. So for me still happy to hold. Whatever happens providing the test meets phe standard. Then it will be cleared for selling.. I know I will be regularly buying one through the coming year
