Good to see BOO up ~3% today when nearly all markets are down.
BTW scb good detective work digging out those old posts from DayTroll. Made me laugh a lot.
Well that tranche is back in profit now and I'd be a lot worse off if I'd listened to you and taken your advice to SELL at 152p DayTroll. BTW , FYI - MER just had its 15th consecutive 'up' trading day. Rejoice !!!
Keep digging that hole DayTroll, it's funny.
Have to do better DayTroll
"thanks to inflation, your cash now also buys you far far less than it once did"
Well that is just dumb as inflation applies to everyone - you included.
Luckily for me the 84% rise here in MER since your 152p SELL rec has cushioned the blow.
Keep digging that hole though DayTroll, it's funny.
Unexpected Trading Update Today (see RNS):
"Mears (LSE: MER), the leading provider of services to the Housing sector in the UK, is pleased to report that the Group has experienced strong trading in the first five months of its financial year, with continued elevated revenues, improving operating margins and excellent cash performance. As a result of this continued strong momentum, the Board expects full year profits to be materially ahead of current market expectations."
Amazing how terribly wrong you called it DayTroll ! Sell at 152p wasn't it? Oh dear.
Same industry. Fullers (FSTA.L) update out today. Fullers SP up 5%, JDW SP down 4%.
As I said and markets have since proved right, FSTA was massively oversold in November.
Excellent results today in RNS. One to watch. Maybe time to sell off some of the less profitable properties. Should be possible for SP to get to 700.
Posted by Fullers I'm afraid.
ITV get to air their dirty laundry in public as Carolyn McCall gets grilled by House of Commons. ITV bosses will be under the spotlight today when they face questions from MPs in a DCMS committee session. Expect some awkward questions. Will the SP fall as media pounce on any negativity or toxicity.
"At least the EU workers paid taxes - bring them back."
Mate runs a recruitment agency - says for key workers where we have many vacancies that just aren't being filled by UK citizens (education, health, farming) . He says they're quite successful at importing workers from Caribbean and Africa as European workers now can't or won't come. Farage must be loving it.
I still owe about a grand on my mortgage of a house worth £940,000. I think I can easily handle the £30 monthly repayments so I hope the bank doesn't come calling and kick me out. Daytrade - what do you think?
I don't get why you keep lying and digging that hole. Right little keyboard warrior aren't you?
I paid £2.74 not £2.78 Daytroll. Plus it's 4 years not 5. Remember I uploaded a pic of that trade so you should really try and keep up. Oh and don't forget the divvies which actually means I'm in profit on that trade. Your hole is huge now.
The UK's sudden burst of hot weather will have got everyone online panic buying BOO's summer clothes. No brainer at these levels.
Very easy 20% to be made on BooHoo if price is ~34p
Sounds to me like MARS are just selling off everything to keep going. Ringwood beers were always famously awful. As were Jennings. Eagle not much better. Wouldn't mind to see all of them disappear. Agree Wychwood do a decent beer though not seen it about much recently, except trips to Norfolk. MARS are experts at buying up cr@p brands and then later selling them off at a loss. Two local pubs here sell Ringwood - I wouldn't touch it. People these days go for Neck Oil or Gamma Ray if they want ale or Madri for lagers. BTW Madri has nothing to do with Spain but millions of people have fallen for the clever marketing. Just go to a city centre anywhere and open your eyes. No surprise to me that MARS share price has halved over a year and once an SP hits 30p it is usually soon worth 0p.
1. strikes tend to spread other airlines/airports will get affected
2. travellers use Heathrow as a hub to then join other airlines
3. general fear of going abroad at all if delays probable
I was at Lord's last week where Marston's have a partnership with England Cricket board. It was clear that everyone was avoiding the Pedigree, Hobgoblin and Banks and paying more per pint (and walking further) to get the independent craft ale. BTW I tried the three Marston's ales that some of our group had mistakenly bought and OMG it was shockingly bad. The craft ale was so much better and needless to say, all of our group were on the craft after 11am.
I think my post re other pub companies a few weeks back has now been justified. MAB.L have done very well. Their prospects are good and FSTA will catch them up over next year. Both far better value than MARS.
Terrible news for Ryanair. More travel chaos for airlines as Heathrow security staff will strike almost every weekend over summer.

The MER SP is now up 70% from your 152p SELL rec DayTroll.
No need for you to comment - the hole you've dug is big enough already.
Added - looks good value @860p
