Jamiejojo, to answer your questions:
Buys and sells are determined by the over-simplified method of using the share mid-point. If the trade is over, it's a 'buy' and shown in blue; if it's under, it's a 'sell' and shown in red; and if it's exactly on the mid-point it's shown in black and is declared as a very unhelpful '?'. However, just to complicate things further, sometimes actual buys occur below the mid-point and so are shown as sells, and vice versa for actual sells. (It would be so very simple to show the trade as a buy or sell no matter what price it was dealt at but, in order for the MMs to maintain their edge over us mug punters, they don't)
And they don't have to show trades as they happen as long as they show them within a reasonable period, which means they can sometimes delay them by a much as a couple of days, again giving themselves an advantage over us.
And yes, the MMs are most definitely a shifty bunch!
