Thanks LS, I knew that bit already, but do you know anything more about what is being processed/ transported where? Or about the acid re single vs mixed?

(First off, apologies for posting about the SP dropping, it's more through annoyance at the MMs than anything else, but I should know better by now)

Anyways.....

I've been under the impression that we were building 2 electrolyte plants, 1 at Vametco and the other at the EL IDZ, but it would appear that's not correct.

It seems that what is actually happening is that there will be a 2-stage process, the 1st stage being done at Vametco and the final stage at the port. I'd love some more detail on what gets done where but sadly I'm a bit too late to ask one of our emissaries to Switzerland (Alfa and gambitxjs) to ask FM or MN for info. For instance, will a new processing plant at Vametco produce high grade V2O5 for transporting to the electrolyte plant at EL IDZ?

I'm also a little baffled by the fact that we've supplied Eskom with mixed-acid electrolyte but we're building a plant at EL IDZ which will produce single-acid electrolyte. Why aren't we going to produce mixed-acid, or can the plant be easily converted to do that later?

If anyone with more knowledge than me could help to clarify either of these areas, I'd be grateful

All this good news and in the meantime the MMs have decided to quite rapidly drop the sp, maybe a large sell to come thru later?

Ophidian, have you ever read Asimov's Foundation trilogy? It's a bit dated now but it deals with the ability to successfully analyse and predict the behaviour of populations to any given stimulus. The gist of the book series is that, in order to get to Utopia, all the populations of the Galaxy have to go through huge fundamental changes while being nudged in the right direction by those in the know over a long period of time.

Now that sounds very similar to your comments recently, and to the long wait we've had for the upcoming re-rate which we 'select few' know is coming. Bring it on I say, and thanks for posting.

An intriguing look into the near future of mining, although I don't think Mantashe will be too happy as the tech advances tend to remove the need for humans doing the manual tasks, the opposite of what he wants to see.

It's also quite ironic that the VR blast wall training system was designed and built and is being used in South Africa.

nvh, you're right, it does mention commissioning in that RNS. In fact is says 'The VRFB commissioning is expected in the first half of 2018.'

No doubt you'll make a point of disagreeing with me when I state the bleeding obvious - it's a little vague in that it doesn't specify whether that is the start of the commissioning phase or the completion of commissioning, so you still have no hard evidence that there's a delay.

Richken - what delay? There is no delay and nvh is unable to provide any evidence that the commissioning was due to be completed by the end of H1. He's just doing what he's been doing on here for the last 3 years, which is being a troublemaker trying to highlight non-existent issues in order to sow seeds of doubt amongst any newbies who may be reading his rubbish.

Maybe he's trading here and trying to drop the sp to get in at a lower price? Who knows, but it's always best to tackle his innuendos with FACTS. He'll go away eventually, thankfully he always does

Headancer, you've picked a good investment here IMO, and it's hard to believe that we're not up around the 50p+ mark already. But we've been saying similar things since the 1.5p days and what I and the other LTHs here have learnt is patience.

It will continue the re-rate in due course, just not as fast as we'd like or hope/expect. Plenty of really well-researched and experienced investors on this BB have predicted 50-75p this year so my advice to you is to just relax and enjoy the ride when it comes. And it will. :-)

gambit, spot on, and here's another prediction from the same author back in Aug last year:

"It will be interesting to see how the DFS Mokopane will be funded (which it most certainly will be, and soon – the reference to the imminent granting of the mining lease in today’s video should be taken as hint, I think). Ideally BMN will NOT join it up with Vametco Alloys, so as to maintain its 64% equity holding. In line with management’s ongoing efforts to minimise equity dilution in BMN the TopCo, the obvious solution would be to fund the Mokopane DFS gradually via regular dividends paid out to BMN by Vametco Alloys.

Two other significant matters I believe have a strong possibility of occurring are: i) BMN / YD / BVL taking out Sojitz’s holding in SMC, thereby taking their equity holding in Vametco Alloys to 74%; and ii) BMN acquiring Vanchem for the purpose of fast-tracking Mokopane into production. I first suggested this in August 2015 in a research note; but in the end the Company went for Vametco."

I'll be seriously impressed if he's right.

Given the discussion last night re Vanchem, it's interesting to see that on slide 28 it says 'Restart of the Vanchem primary vanadium production in South Africa'.

It would be useful to know the context used eg is it definitely happening or is it just a possibility. Also, if it is definite do we know who owns it?
