As for Nigeria our accugas asset continues to throw off material cashflow so threats you refer to are linked to acquisitions and acquisitions that aren't yet on the books can not be viewed as threats......... and vice versa

Zengas - Most people are short sighted and let emotions get the better if you were pre June 2021 holder when the acquisition strategy was not in place and the share price was 19p or so and you were a happy holder knowing that at that point Savannah could be a 50p+ company through accugas and niger alone. Most people have started to get their knickers into the twist............................. regarding acquistions..

With every passing day net debt will turn into net cash with the accugas asset which has potential to double or even triple production from new gas contracts.

Niger - Benin pipeline completion looming and could kick start things there as well..............................

Zengas - Wouldn't surprise me I did hear that we were interested in upstream assets in Cameroon so wouldn't come as a total surprise.

Besides our investment in South Sudan would have been greater than $1.25bn if we signed a couple of renewables deals there as well. So the argument around the deal going beyond the purchase is totally wrong assumption as alluded to in the announcement. If we signed a couple of renewable deals that in turn would lead to investment infrastructure development around the projects and beyond as a matter of cumulative effect

Like with all deals in africa approval has to be granted from the very top i.e. the president and his office.

In terms of the options available to SS. Unless SS can find a credible partner willing l to pay more than $1.25bn than they have a choice to make. My guess is if the deal has been in the works for more than 18 months then they must have tried finding other credible options but no one else is interested and out of all the players out there. So they will have to pull a rabbit out the hat if they want another buyer possible but is it probable………………. If it was probable then they would have announced a credible buyer like Exxon or chevron etc…………….. As supposed to a last ditch attempt with an American giant caltech……………..

It quite simple really if you look at it without the noise the grand question…….. Is there a credible buyer in the market willing to take on the risk of a jurisdiction like South Sudan and pay more than $1.25bn. Otherwise the only option that remains is Petronas slowly winding down the asset till production depletes without any new investment

Don’t believe we will see an rns till Friday and Savannah will not issue anything till Friday when interims are due as the caltech deal and news has been retracted by ministry of finance.

Here are all the possible scenarios that could play out:

1) We get admission document Friday without sign off (unlikely) as we know from various conversations on here Andrew prefers to come to the market with approval.

2) We get admission document with sign off (highly unlikely) unless they want to cover up the caltech fiasco quickly with superseded good news approving savannah.

3) We get another extension for 1 or 2 months more likely.

If the other work streams are complete than there will clearly be a decision to make here does the company wait till approval is granted when there is no legal requirement from a listing perspective to do so.

Our next update on SS is going to be alongside our interims so we will have to all wait till Friday.

Longshort - no need to apologise we all want the best for each other and by best I mean a healthy share price. A lot on here feel that share price appreciation is fully tied with acquisitions but it’s not, I always view savannah as the savannah with accugas and Niger and how we can grow those and anything else on top such as renewable or new deals as bonus so based on just those 2 assets alone I genuinely believe we are still trading at discount which is why I am slightly disappointed that they haven’t signed bigger gas contracts. I would hope to see some sizeable gas contracts imminently at the very least.

On paper the SS deal was always the toughest deal in Africa even tougher than the chad deal so no surprise that it will take longer. There are a number of things at play here

1) all the production sharing contracts have expired so these need to be re-negotiated

2) stability of ministry staff as they constantly get sacked or re-shuffled.

3) potential presidential election looming next year so it’s going to be used as tool for debate by current party and opposition.

4) nervousness around open transparency in the oil sector in country meaning more scrutiny and less of the book deals, remember they have been use to 3 state oil companies in CNPC, ONGC and Petronas. State oil companies have governance but less public disclosure so things can easily be brushed under the carpet.

And probably a million and one other reasons that our mind can not comprehend.

Front with accugas and Niger pipeline coming to completion. The coup in Niger doesn’t seem that bad now as they have opened airspace for commercial flights.

Hence I am looking forward to interims as I want greater detail on what they are doing on the home front as much as like the away front in terms of acquisitions.

Telegraph it could have been a negotiation ploy to turn the heat on for a better deal who knows at this point you got to remember the old production sharing agreements have all expired so they are clearly looking for more generous terms perhaps this little saga was design to achieve that

Tone has changed from a deal to discussion a “US company that held discussions with members of the South Sudan delegation on the sidelines”

Gently slow walking it back obviously they are not going to outright say that they didn’t do the right due diligence.

But interesting chose of words the word deal has been replaced by discussion

But as per Rockys update petronas never knew anything about it and besides there is usually a termination fee if the termination is not mutual meaning that savannah would get a break clause fee if they were bypassed unless they both agreed mutually to terminate

I am fully supportive of AK and truly believe that he will any downside risks. After all the chairman did subscribe at suspended price to the tune of 26.25p and he would have an idea of what else is in the pipeline for the business.

One would hope that Savannah Energy has planned all the what if scenario's as the deal has been progressed in the background during the last 10 months and if it weren't to complete than whats the plan......................................

Yes it could not to the extremes that some speculate though also some brokers were not to keen on the SS deal in the first place considering the jurisdiction, so some may view this in a positive light considering it as a get of jail free card. It will depend on the following i guess and the timing of other newsflow:

1) Addtional accugas contracts

2) CPF processing plant progress - I believe we have hired construction manager in July so work should have commenced.

3) Niger plans and progress

4) Debt restructuring

5) Potential new deal which has already been trialled as this year.

6) Anything else that I have missed.

I have waited 10 months already I think I am willing to wait an additional 3 months on above till 31st December 2023 and than assess at that point.

Most People are getting anxious needlessly, might i remind everyone that before any deal our share price was 19p this was June 2021 even before the chad deal we are now suspended at 26.25p so in September 2023. An additional 2 years and 3 months of operational growth in accugas asset and net debt reduction and only 7p higher. We are not fairly priced at suspension in fact with the accugas asset alone we should really be anywhere between 30 - 35p. I would advise people to read the last few broker notes for ease of mind

Besides the new company must be funded by Elon musk if they are willing to pay 3 times what the assets are actually worth. And how do the my propose to interstate the assets they have got no experience in running oil and gas fields no operational foot print.
