Look out for a few cancelled trades. HL was allowing duplicate trades today. I submitted a buy several times as it appeared to have failed then they all showed up and I was £8.5 in debt- oops!

Very quick phone call resolved the issue, but there will be a few reversals coming up I suspect?

Still, it was nice to own so many RBW shares briefly.

No -rr34 - I don't know what HL told you but the ex-dividend date is definitely today NOT yesterday - there was never any doubt about this (until you just introduced it).

It seems like the more experience posters are saying you will be safe to sell today and still get the divi, due to the settlement date being Mon, which is after the Record date which is tomorrow.

I'm still not confident enough, besides, I don't mind hold a share that has the potential do rise, and do this again at some point.

Sharbel - if people buy today they will NOT get the divi. Careful what you say.

The info says you need to be on the register on the record date - which is tomorrow 11th

Because it's now ex-divi - i.e. The share price yesterday included the value of the divi - if you buy today, you don't get a divi - hence the drop.

RNS says...

'The Company intends to pay the Special Dividend on 6 January 2021 to Braveheart shareholders on the register on 11 December 2020.'

Then "shares will be marked ex dividend on 10 December 2020"

I know you have to have bought in the day before the ex-divi date. Some here think you can sell anytime tomorrow and still qualify, others seem to say you have to hold till end of day tomorrow?

As a bit of a newbie, I personally wouldn't have the confidence to sell first thing (but I'm thinking of holding regardless). Does anyone think they have the definitive answer to this? Thanks.

It quickly became clear to me, whole point of Motely Fool is to advertise the stocks they're pushing at the bottom of the page.

The formula is relentless - write an article about a popular stock to attract people in, usually with a positive headline. Waffle about it for a page then basically say "but if I were you I'd invest in ABC or XYZ instead" from which they get a kick-back.

So it's sort of a compliment if they use your share as a clickbait but, personally, that's all I read into it.

I don't filter lightly, and the reason I did was cos I checked his posting history. He as form for ****ging off shares he's not in, and , also, getting upset with people commenting on shares he is in, in exactly the same way as he does here. He was even ****ging off GGP just before it doubled, showing he's not only a massive idiot, but a massive hypocrite.

Unlike Miagi, I don't offer any advice to anyone - buy ROCK, sell ROCK - do whatever you choose! Just make sure it's what you're comfortable with and not the advice of a hypocrite with an agenda.

I wonder how many pending buy orders there are at sub 30p? A huge amount is my guess. Lots of people who missed out last week, plus lots of existing holders happy to pay that all day long for shares released by the nervous? I would put one in myself if I wasn't already all-in!
