You still couldn't afford it...
My one's bigger than yours....LOL!
I assume that's posted in error here?
CF trying hard in that RNS to calm investor's fears about a cliff edge, vote to authorise share buybacks and/or dividends, more about CGT and generally trying to be upbeat.
I don't get the CGT thing, if we were given part of the Company that we already owned as a dividend in specie, then the value attributed at the time would be the value of our holding (that value will have also been lost from our ORPH holding). Therefore if the value of POLB shares has dropped well below that value point then why should there be any CGT on it?
From ii this morning,
"ISA-Ineligible Holding - Update
Name of stock: Poolbeg Pharma Restricted shares.
Further to our recent notices dated 23rd February and 28th February 2022, following correspondence with the company we are reviewing our decision to deem the restricted shares ineligible to be held within an ISA account.
As such, at this time we will not be moving any Poolbeg Pharma Restricted shares out of ISA accounts.
Any in progress or completed internal transfers from an ISA account to a Trading account will be cancelled or reversed by close of business tomorrow. This will have no impact on your ISA allowance.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Once the current restrictions on the shares are lifted, arrangements will be made by the company to deliver unrestricted ordinary shares to us. Accounts will be updated upon receipt."
It's day 13 of a War in Europe, I know let's do our spin offs now...
Let's think about what we want from the spin offs and allow that to happen....
So on some BBs we have some calling for release of the results and on others why aren't Directors buying....???
Or CF was right and the Insti only started selling recently...
CF clearing up the ISA question during presentation, much like I thought, no actual shares in ISA until they are released by Croft. The released shares won't be restricted and be able to be in your ISA
Fishboy,
He mentioned that CHDR was conducting the study.

Well happy with the cash psition ad the re-iteration in the interview that they are paying small amounts for the licensing of new assets, the cashpile should see them well into monetisation of POLB 001 and 002 and can be increased through grants and assume R&D credits down the line.
Not sure why they are so confident there won't be a sell off on unlocking though? I sincerely hope there is as those that want out and there will be many will sell and those that want in can get cheap shares. Although I am underwater will some buys since IPO, i# want to buy more and would rather benefit than let the sellers benefit.
Interesting to see these now, won't see much business, but the cash position will be good, especially against current mkt cap.
Wonder if we will be able to glean anything more from them, I assume there will be the usual nod to the future you get in results, but interested in POLB001 and also POLB002 which could also see human trials in the near term.
I don't think they were ever going to buy back shares while the large seller was going, mainly why would they help them get a better price. Not sure now, they might be awaiting news that would see the SP turn anyway. Not sure on the rules either? Can they buy when they have inside info? Do they have to announce a timetable of buying to cover the former point?
Ultimately their job is to get the Company growing and more profitable not sure they should be worrying about anything other than that.
Finally CF's position here would probably mean he would prefer a dividend down the line rather than buybacks which wouldn't allow him to withdraw some capital, perhaps to invest in another spin off?
Toyin, I have been investing for decades now, mainly on AIM and lose on the majority of investments, as you have to check out if it isn't happening (before it doesn't happen). In all that time I have got to know many CEOs, I have also watched as the group thinking of confirmation bias magnifies investors expectations (quite often spiked by those looking to create a trading opportunity).
The majority of CEOs are purely cheerleaders, very few of them put any real investment in, they draw large salaries, pensions and bonuses and get their holdings in discounted placings, options and warrant deals. Some have even been Crooked and fraudulent.
In my opinion, CF has been a cheerleader, but has also produced a lot of the things he has been cheering about. However no one could predict the challenges and opportunities that 2 years of Covid have presented him. Another of his faults is he tries to do everything himself, meaning he leaves himself impossible workloads. Then finally the sector leads itself to delays and changes, look at the Govt Covid studies, there have been others delayed by MHRA, changes made by the client and general progress. They happen but later than expected, which again makes the organising of all these trials a huge task.
Luckily CF has stopped being a cheerleader and is now sharing the load with 'Mo'.
Positive bias among investors is always a danger, especially if they don't just start to believe everything said (without a sense of realism) but also start to egg up what is said to even higher expectations. That has happened here and there is a group that are preying on that positive bias, stoking it at times and pulling the rug at others. Thereby throwing everyone into disarray and forcing people to sell and buy at stupid times from which the group benefit.
It won't stop until those hurting sell out, in my experience though, there are potentially multibags to be made from the bottom and not always able to know when the bottom is hit, I tend to average in each month. ORPH is an odd one as well as a selling of the whole Company is always a potential.
Toyin,
Not when it comes to HMRC....LOL...Ever tried getting them to recognise losses on a suspended share....
There is a trading strategy to mitigate large paper losses and that is called a stop loss, if you don't chose to employ that then losses can continue to get bigger (with the capital tied up leading to opportunity costs as other investment opportunities go begging).
That's everyone's choice....
Thompi,
Maybe I am a fool, or maybe I have just made a plan and am following it.
We won't know until later on, however if you are a holder here then how can all the 'concerned and worried' posts actually help the SP? Why do the bidding for the deramp brigade (and don't try to pretend there aren't people here just because of previous beef with CF).
The trading over the last week or so has seen a lot of selling but also quite large accumulating and I believe we no longer have a big seller, but actually a buyer(s) trying to accumulate at lowest price. You and I aren't likely to be able to change these big players moves, so we just have to work to our plan, recognising the players and minions and also not take our eye off the Company and it's fundamentals. Good Luck, we both seem to want the same thing and if it happens we will both be very happy.
A couple of years ago, I had some complaints with ii and barclays over their mistakes in voting on my holdings. They were utterly clueless and had f*cked up. Later I asked them to requisition an EGM with my holdings, I was amazed at their lack of knowledge!
So not surprised with their response here, not going to get involved with brokers this time, as it gets painful.
However cannot see that the distribution shares are in my ISAs as they are held by Croft until distribution in April, all that is in my account is a number, that is the number of shares due to me. So I cannot transfer something that I don't yet have true ownership of and therefore those shares aren't yet in my ISA to move anyway.
Many slate CF for his over-enthusiastic approach, where he front ran all news and got caugbt out by reality timewise. Yet people still crave the same front running to prop up the SP.
Can you not see the deramp machine is in full scale, so anything but real actual news and progress will not make any difference to the SP trend.
If you haven't got the patience, sell up and move on, there will be plenty of opportunities to make or lose money at the present time.
.....but if it only hs £15m cash, which is more likely, as most contracts are for studies this year.
They may get an upfront payment, but the Company will spend that on getting the trial administration (including volunteer recruitment) up and running.
