Cannot quite remember who continually makes that point but I'm sure she'll pop up soon :-) £2.5 upfront will probably only cover a few admin jobs and they probably even spent a chunk of it penning the paperwork for this deal itself. But it is encouraging the people with £100's of millions to spend are talking to Summit.

Not reading much into it since they've switched brokers and NOMAD in the past with no consequence. Just a better deal or change on priorities from the current one. It would seem odd doing a deal this close to Phaseout readout next year when they are financed to cover the period. Anything can happen in AIM companies though, good or bad for us.... that's the game. GLA P.S. Any takeover offer has to go through the shareholder vote process so we'll be fully informed if anything is being tabled. Not that PI's have enough influence to sway the decision to much. The II's will do what they are advised for short to medium safe targets.

I remember the original was a little vague on amounts but I think it was intentionally broad brush to cover all circumstance since it was penned very early on in the clinical trial process. The new deal has far more sight of the end goal and the numbers involved and so they can be a little more sure of the recovery of their funds at a certain level. All very fair in my eye since it would have struggled to get this far without their generous support. No problem, yes the 22nd Oct 2012 statement does not include the term details. Sorry thought it did. As far as I remember from AGM notes and possibly readying somewhere else WT were due somewhere in the region of high teens to mid 20's but it was a sliding scale depending how successful the drug is. There may be some details on it in AGM announcements and company accounts info in 2013/14 if you have time to troll through all that lot. You can find those in the original RNS around the date given in todays RNS. Basically they were due a much higher percentage of the profits, so they've (WT) taken a back step to hope fit with their (WT) reason for assisting and thus help get the drug to market quicker and reward the development company more. All good and well done Welcome Trust for helping out here... they should easily recover their original investment in time which is all they need.

If we had knowledge of their nowledge we'd be able to make much better informed investment decisions :-) Fortunately those of us that attend the AGM's and bother to actually talk to the company do have access to their nowledge and with that valuable knowledge we can invest or not confidently. Great questions Thoth2 and I've got positive answers for all of them. But I'm not telling you. Do Your Own Research! Trolling boards to extract knowledge from well researched investors is a well known practice and very lazy. Good luck with your plan though, but maybe try another board, seasoned investors here have seen it all before... we have a regular chap to keep us entertained :-) The price may drift as we wait for the wheels to turn and the science to prove up and you may get your buy in price.... no need to make yourself look foolish in the process though :-) Have a nice day!

Exactly Wildbunch. BC is only here to create argument and fish for free research. As you say you were at the AGM so you and all other well researched investors on here know very well the commercial potential of Ridnilazole and why a commercial partnership has not been formed yet, despite numerous offers. Just don't tell big chief Black Cloud :-)

So many fundamental mistakes there Pom, if you had done your research into Summit's DMD programme you would know far better. I guess you still do not own any shares yet then. More research needed. Fishing for answers by starting arguments on here with well researched investors is not the way to do it though. Good luck chap.

I guess some could be selling into the market above $12 to fund their part in the placing..... easy quick gain for them as long as the price then remains above $12.... if not we win and have the opportunity to grab some cheap stock in the coming months :-) I know someone will argue it's only cheap stock 'IF' the drugs work though. I guess the people who paid £2.69 on Monday have the most to be upset about. Long wait now as others have said and plenty time to top up, at a fair price relative to what the II's have paid, before further developments of P3 starting next year. Good luck all whatever your strategy

What's happening, Pom's negativity inline with general PI sentiment. I have to also agree though. As F-M highlighted earlier it was probably all part of the US talks. I assume the price will now drop to the placing price of £1.82 over the coming days weeks. At least we know they have the money now to perform P3 and hopefully we'll see a return on todays investment in three years... maybe that's why the II's insist on a discount. I also agree with Free-money that the wording public offering is misleading. Even if PI's can get a slice of the action you only have a couple of trading days to do it. It's more of an institutional placing. Hopefully the price will drop below the £1.82 level so people can feel a bit easier about topping up with these back door deals going on. P.S. Pom, you own any shares yet?

That's more like it, back to the usual pessimistic approach :-) I thought from the first 'helpful' post Pom must have bought some shares now..... certainly seems to be spending some quality time researching and analysing Summit out of many 100's of shares to pick from. Pom, you've had quite a break from posting on Summit. Are you now invested or are you still just keeping your eye on us with a view to future investment? I think we remember the phrase "It's in the bag" and it certainly looks like it was :-) GLA
