i first came across xrf about 10 years ago.
coling bird,a mining engineer by trade, but well known in the explo sector
used it on one of his copper licenses.
it wasnt hand held,so maybe these days, they do grades.
.
but back then,he said, instead of using 5 geologists,testing/sampling an area, that could take months.
he used an xrf, from his hired helicopter and did the job in one day.
.
onbviously,it would be someone bigger and more complicated than an hand held device.
.
he said,it didnt do grade or depth of strike, only surface location, but this was 10 years ago.
and yeah,i dont think it can be incorporated into a jorc...ive never seen that.
