How do you know any new contract is in a different company name?

Everyone is making a huge number of assumptions about a whole bunch of things. Keyboard you are now as much a scare monger as Adam might have given misinformation

Personally I see Capita going further than 250 m cuts. Still way too many staff and too much property. Whole model will be changed . If we get taken over , which I think is a possibility and what historically Adolfo and co have been involved in this will hurt depending on your buy in. I’d be happy to break even at 23 p at this stage and just put it down to a bad experience but many others will be badly hurt. Still scope for capita to do very well but we need to see some contract wins and soon

Are people really expecting a company with 2.5 b revenue and no structural debt to speak of to go bust. I see a consolidation , takeover or a turn around at this point . Not insolvency.

Hexam yes the capital revenue -about 15 mean was lost as such . I think there may have been a couple of others during the year but can’t recall. Whatever the position their wording has been wrong and they have also suffered some delay s in income. Hexam maybe you know how to ask the questions better than me. Please ask IR and see what they say

Hexam if I expect to receive revenue in 2024 from a business but I sell it in 2024 unexpectedly, I lose the revenue from that business that would have accrued if not from an early sale - at least for the part of a year.

Hexam maybe it turns on expected revenue . If you look at the august update they expected low to mid single digit revenue drops. That’s what they forward guided on - problem is their forward guidance was wrong by 3 percent at best . That’s a big miss. They should have changed their expectation as it became clear that the revenue expected for 2024 would be less because business exits came through or revenue they thought would crystallise in 2024 did not because of delays. Instead they did nothing and that prompted a cardiac arrest response . Market basically said AH - you are no better than JL. Rookie error.

Personally I hope these guys are preparing Capita for sale like their other companies. I might get out with a bit of profit on a 23 average .

Hexam the reason given to me was delay in expected revenue and business exits. My beef was the guidance. They must have known this would happen but didn’t guide accordingly in August. I’ve made it very clear that that was unacceptable and they should have said something.

That’s the problem . They have deminimis thresholds on reporting contract wins and this type of thing.

You are totally deluded if you can’t see the difference between yours and Hexam’s posting style. I will say that.

IR have confirmed to me that the proceeds of Capital sale did not form part of the revenues so

If last year was 2.8b and we are say 9 % down by year end -that should leave as at 2.55 odd which is worse than the £2.66b predicted

However if you bear in mind that the revenue for capital was I recall circa 60m a year (about 3 years revenue say) then in theory we are just about there or thereabouts on a 5% revenue decline. That's obviously not quite correct as that money will be put towards the next cost cutting round and cutting debt. We should be be more profitable once all the cost cutting occurs

It is also worth mentioning that the management team have themselves put some money in here so are incentivised to turn this around

There is more I could say as I have express my displeasure at the guidance given and was given some explanations about delayed income and such like which was incremental and not RNS newsworthy as stand alone items

Ill help you 5% of 2.8b = 140m -9 percent is £260m. So the minimum it could be is $2.55b or so (all approximate) -way ahead of 2.1 b or 2.4 b as you stated. We also have the proceed of sale from Capita and a major cost cutting exercising , little debt and no pension

Only thing Im not certain about was whether the 8 % drop includes the proceeds of Capital as revenue or not. The revenue from Capital was I recall 60m for the year so lets deduct £15m as we determine the difference between 5 and 8%
