I've noticed anything on the US radar always gets another lift when they come to work. I guess GDR are on the US radar again now ;)

Mad to sell. Danaher own Beckman Coulter. A £6 billion company own BC. Big pharma have a little habit of starting with a joint venture and ending with a buyout. GDR have 2 big pharma partnerships. Faster PCRs and better tracking of viral loads. That's the more sophisticated understanding we need to track the way the virus is spreading. Next stop will be genome sequencing to track new variants. Beckman Coulter are also on the case with this. I bet all the long term holders are already well up to speed with this but newbies take a look at BC. And you lot with your nose pressed against the shop window drooling and saying silly things- come on! Just come into the shop and put your money in the savings account. The interest is rocketing and it ain't coming down just for you!
Maybe when some-one posts a dumb arse post if you're going to slap them down fair enough but at least change the thread title! I would say this is a day for positive observations. Just realised yesterday that both Beckman Coulter and Symtex are on the government framework for £15 billion. They are spending £6 billion between February and May. I read all 42 pages of Dido Harding's testimony to the House of Commons Public Accounts committee last week. Lol.

There's £22 billion set aside for testing and testing infrastructure. The £15 billion budget which will be spent still includes some testing infrastructure- see NAO report on cv19 testing and Dido Harding's team testimony to the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee last Wednesday. £6 billion will be spent between February and May this year. Beckman Coulter and Symtex are both identified on the framework for £15 billion. Symtex and Beckman Coulter both have partnerships with Genedrive. 142 companies are on the framework. If the money was divided equally each company would be looking at over £100 million. It won't be divided equally obviously. Dido Harding confirmed at the Hoc meeting (in the minutes- Google it) that they have made a decision on the £1 billion contract for lateral flow tests and associated products, last Friday. They want to prioritise UK companies going forward- also from the PAC testimony. Johnson has said this repeatedly at recent press conferences too. Harding also emphasised that we will be buying tests which are capable of distinguishing different variants of the virus. Van Tam on Channel 4 news has discussed the importance of understanding the growth of new variants at some length tonight on channel 4 news. I decided to buy in here today. Genedrive are in the right place to make a big difference to help us get a grip on this awful pandemic.

We haven't won yet. We are 1 of about 140 providers who have been included on a framework agreement. Beckman Coulter and Symtex are both on it. The contract is for 15 billion pounds. It states that they will overspend. Dido Harding told the Public Accounts HoC last week that we are building a British diagnostics industry so that we can be better prepared for future variants of this virus and any future public health crisis of this nature. GDR have a test to recognise new variants. Dido Harding said we need these tests going forward. We will get an announcement very soon about the plans to get us out of lockdown. Testing will be part of the mix. Glad I am in.

It will see the seeds of doubt I fear. I fully expect we will do well. Announcements are coming soon about the investment in UK diagnostics industry. I have even taken a position in GDR. But I am out for just now. Yes, I know- classic anxious investor. But not going to sit and watch all my profits sink to nowt again. Would rather risk a higher buy in. GLA.

I'm in today. I think it's because GDR has products to support genome sequencing which will help with distinguishing different variants of the virus? And possibly that the government are publishing their exit plans next month which will include the way that a British diagnostics industry backed by £22 billion will be used to suppress the virus after restrictions are eased. This company is on the framework for £15 billion- both Beckman and Symtex are on the bill.
