The buying volume increased this past week leading up to the RNS. I guess news of an impending RNS leaked if not the contents.

This is the bit that seems to have scared the hot money.

Strategic process update

The strategic process to identify an appropriate partner to participate in the lithium development is progressing well. Discussions are ongoing with parties that have met the strategic criteria and they are expected to continue beyond 30 September 2023. Meanwhile, the Company is focused on completing the work streams required to finalise the process. Further updates on the strategic process will be communicated in due course as appropriate.

The "......beyond 30 September 2023." is a bit open ended. Does that mean October/November/December before we know where this process is going or will it dribble into 2024? It doesn't come as any great surprise that we're not going to know in September where this is all going and I suspect its not possible/reasonable to expect something more firm either.

Apart from that the rest of the RNS is encouraging/positive.

The money is not in the resource its in the refining. Lithium isn't rare but there's a dearth of refining options outside China. Andrada could clean up if they choose the right partner with enough cash and the right technical expertise.

You might want to read Lithium Americas web site. They're not a "possible". They have a spread of projects and not just Thacker Pass.

The lithium in the McDermitt caldera is locked up in clay. At the moment there is no operational refinery extracting lithium from clay. Extracting lithium from lithium-bearing clays is subject to ongoing development work. Unless they can refine the ore at a cost comparable or cheaper to hard rock or brine operations the lithium in the McDermitt caldera is worthless.

I doubt if this is a pump and dump although we do have a vote coming up the end of September at the AGM so it may have something to do with that. Who knows. Either way I don't see these sorts of posts swaying many, if any, people.

These are "paid for" platforms, if you don't pay, you don't get a mention. On top of that Vox Markets is Zak Mir and an endorsement from him is like the kiss of death. Not being mentioned by either is a positive in my opinion.

I'm not sure about that. When Andrada listed on AIM back in 2018 tin was bumping along at $20,000 per tonne. There wouldn't have been a compelling reason to re-open Uis on a figure like that with the sorts of tin grades they knew from historical data they were going to find. The AIM admissions document makes ample reference to lithium which suggests to me that lithium was always the principal motivation.

2018 /19 were the two years that saw current market leaders in lithium start up. I don't think it any coincidence that Andrada (AfriTin) also listed around the same time.

The smart money got into lithium at that point. I'm inclined to give AV the benefit of the doubt and assume that he was also smart enough to see the potential of lithium. I'm also inclined to believe he was even smarter in recognising the old Uis mine as a quick and cost effective route into lithium.

But then again WTFDIK.

In all of this lithium excitement it's easy to forget about tin and the critical roll it plays in the energy transition. I think the above article sums the whole thing up quite well. I suspect Brandberg West is the one that will make the biggest impact when it comes too tin. The tin grades that Gold Fields reported when they were operating the mine were something special.

11 minutes 35 seconds AV talks about Brandberg West and the historical drill data they’ve been reviewing. They have data confirming drill intercepts of 28% tin over 10 meters.

AVs comment about eye watering figures being quoted is an easy comment to make but one that appears to be borne out by this development.
