Yes, I'm slowly adding more to my holding now, to be fair.
I'd planned to stop at roughly a 30,000 share holding but I've got a regular investment plan set up. I'm not sure when I'll stop but doubtlessly I'll know when I feel that I've got enough..
The drop in price isn't really bothering me too much at the moment tbf, as it'll help me get a handful of extra ones too as I'm happy to sit on them until I collect a decent return on my investment.
That M&S have got themselves into with their ill thought out TV advert.
The last thing any company needs is bad publicity heading towards a major peak trading period with huge numbers threatening boycotts. Not good.
@Investerinvester. Absolutely mate. Very odd the way they've gone about this.
This is the problem when bosses get their companies involved in political/woke BS. It causes all kinds of bad press.
They should keep out of such tomfoolery and concentrate on keeping their customer base as happy as reasonably possible by adopting a neutral stance on such matters.
@Pang.
It is. But if you're invested here, does it not bother you that the feedback from M&S's monumental screw up is going to have negative ramifications to it's bottom line (and profits), which will directly impact your return from dividend payments when customers ditch the brand for other retailers at a peak trading time?
It's a bit strange if not. Unless you've opened a large short position.
I've stumbled across the news that they've recently got a leasing agreement for one of their mines. Good news for it's share price too. It's gone up a couple of pence.
A sign of things to come for us here once the wagon starts to roll, eh?
@ Futureum, fingers crossed for a decent wedge for all of us mate. There's no reason not to think we will have that coming, its just a case of waiting for it. I'm quite fortunate at the monent,as while I'm not exactly minted, I've got no real need to raise funds for myself at the moment, so I'm happy to sit back and wait.
@Mick. You'll be in for a tidy wedge when your boat comes in then. You've taken a bigger risk on this puppy than I have, so you'll deserve your rewards.
I'd originally planned to stop at a holding of 25,000 shares, but as I've only got 2 holdings, here and a small holding in Premier Foods with just over 4000 shares I thought that I'd keep going. I've got both these holdings in an ISA account, so no tax to think about when I come to collect.
I'm not sure where I'll stop with this one. Maybe 50 - 60 thousand shares, but who knows. Maybe I'll keep going beyond that.
@ Futurum. I've got 30,000 shares mate, not £30,000.
I'm told that I'm quite pig headed sometimes, but sadly I'm not quite that brave. I wish I was sometimes, but hey ho.
That said, my trade has now gone through, and I've got just a smidgen of just over 33,400 shares in Sav now, and I'll be adding a small amount extra each month to it as time goes by.
I'm roughly 6 years from retirement, so I'm hoping for a decent return from my investment here by that time.
@Seaton. There are no daft questions. I wasn't sure about this either, but it's always a good idea to put questions out there that we don't understand or are unsure of, as some holders may well be more knowledgeable in such matters and are happy to oblige with an explanation. It's always good to ask for help if it's needed.
I've only glanced through it a little bit so far, and I'll be going through it in a bit more detail later on.
But this has to be a good step forward for the Co. A good bit of progress. It can't do the SP any harm can it.
It's not a bad thing is the current SP. I've started drip buying in as and when I've got a bit of free cash. I don't really care that it's below 50p a pop tbf as I'm not looking to trade or sell.
A decent FTSE 100 dividend paying business that I can get and add to cheaply, what's not to like? Happy to sit on these & add freebies to out of the divvis.
