Newbie, that has been a feature of this crrisis, emotional posts from supposed NHS staff, probably Momentum or union activists to make political points. The Health Service Journal carried a report on 22nd April analysing 119 deaths of NHS staff and concluded none were from the frontline and the rate of fatality was exactly as per normal member of the public going to work. We have to respect any key worker but that sort of dishonesty harms everyone.
Think it was my comment you referred to earlier notnow, I wasn't inferring it wouldn't matter more of a case of the City moving on and we miss out. We have witnessed big transformations of MCaps in this sector but the lack of output from SNG could mean a downward drift so that Lansdowne clear off at a lower level while test results have a lower than expected impact. It was Professor Heneghan from Oxford university saying there could even be a zero death figure by end of June, not a govt minister. I would like to see some news from thecompany even if it is only updates on numbers, understand they need to analyse results separately as I was involved in stats many, many moons ago.
Agree that it was needed but the impact has happened and we meed to move on and find a way to go forward now. We have destroyed too many lives through the economy, lost jobs, mortgages, marriages, etc. Justbecause you,me and others have security we shouldnt ignore the impact on others.
Looks like movement drying up in recent days. Nobody buying back in as they smell a drop to accomodate Lansdowne so sit on their hands. News needed before any movement of note IMHO. Waiting until end June may be clinically correct but I have a fear that cases may fade as govt suggest new cases could drop to near zero by end of June. Biotech may have fallen out of fashion (horrible term) on stock market by then.
I may be a cynic but volume does appear to have been low since the last TR-1. MM's probably need a spike to shift 2mn or so from Lansdowne since 6th May TR-1to get below 10% threshold ? PI's churning and new investors waiting to see back of them or news on results might see us stagnate until June.
Miggy, its easy to attack with hindsight but i have just had recent experience with a close relative in a care home for dementia. Over 12 months he was in and out of hospital for several scares ,it was hard to get GPs involved and as symptoms subsided he would get discharged from hospital after rushed to A&E. We couldnt blame anyone and he went to sleep in November from pneumonia ( covid case -who knows).
Fair point chris but never read about inhaler, which I personally enthuse about, being a treatment in wider media. Youtube may appeal to a few but city pages, print media and a mention during daily briefings would give a boost. Hopefully AstraZeneca just waiting in the wings ??
Is the lack of promotion that this solution has to offer. The company comes across as a group of scientists enjoying the technical detail and scientific purity of the testing. Of course June may bring a good outcome but in the meantime I sometimes fear the government and media will have become so preoccupied with vaccine as the only solution that SNG inhaler may be an afterthought. If results of the test are positive it seems we might need more approval to achieve before the solution can be offered by GPs by which time the world has moved on. I would love to see these results splashed all over the media rather than an article in the Lancet. The CEO has to get out and prepare the media as well as managing expectations.
Aye,all greens and more but everyone of the campaigners are happy to use mobile phones, modern kitchens, modern transport, computers and live in heated accomodation. In other words enjoy the benefits of the very industry they hate whilst drawing up the drawbridge to prevent less affluent societies from raising their lifestyles. Weak politicians keep failing to call out their hypocrisy.
Puzzles me that if interferon treatment can be a treatment that saves lives during this pandemic , why not treat patients immediately when they have nothing else to turn to in ICU ? If I was in dire need I would happily take a chance as if it can be used for hepatitis patients I would assume the body would tolerate it ? Perhaps someone could enlighten me as I fear trial methodology could satisfy bureaucrats and academic statisticians at the expense of losing luves needlessly ?
I cant claim the in depth knowledge of detail that many demonstrate whilst this board is quiet, without the one line rampers. I do believe, however, that this trial will be a game change, especially the home trials as it will give GPs an early resource to treat patients if successful. My key will be the wording in any near term RNS that includes nuances to forthcoming home trails.
Interesting comment from the CEO abot Ace2 having an anti inflammatory benefit. There is an article in todays Daily Mail about a study yesterday that a deadly new anti inflammatory syndrome is causd by covid-19. SNG treatment being tested might be a big benefit if approved.
