Claire i remember you from the BOO chat, good to see we agree on the direction of this one...
Very strange afternoon, you'd like to think something has leaked (most likely given the steep rise and trading volume from 3pm onwards) although it had dropped significantly on the back of great news Monday
big issues re ODX's tests reported in the guardian today after an in depth medical journal review. The test is not 99% accurate as promised it is actually <85% ...... Good news for NCYT in the short to mid term..?
So did Trevor buy or sell shares? Nothing has changed in the updated RNS but for the figure..?
Anyone have a link to this stock on IG?
Normality restored.
clairesmith "do any of you understand what boohoo product is? they sell costumes for people to project a certain kind of persona and idea. that's a key fundamental of high street fashion."
They aren't a fancy dress store granny.
clairesmith- hahahah the last 12 quarters support your point Granny, quarter by quarter record revenue growth.. International growth superb (81% growth in the Us this H1). This model, as previously cited by another contributor, works anywhere in the Western world and the results reflect this year on year.
Who is BOO (the groups) biggest competitor? Asos? Most likely yes, 16-25 females don't have the brand obsession young males have or certainly a phase young males go through. BOO/PLT etc etc, provide cheap, fashionable clothing per occasion- it has completely changed the culture, people are now buying PER occasion. Why? As its so cheap. Asos you have scroll through 80-100 pages to find the clothing you desire, unless of course you filter of course (to brands..) but it is still a tedious and time consuming process. BOO on the other hand have a max of 8/10 pages and a 'new in' every day.
Asos while being the only real plausible competitor is the BOO group is actually very different. Asos is essentially a hub for a variety of different brands, margins are nowhere near as good and the price/s are not v competitive to BOO.
Next/H&M/River Island? Forget it, not in the same league.

I think people are forgetting the all time high (after q1 results) WAS 434. Sales will have naturally increased (given summer months, post lockdown, pubs/society opening up again), with the report on Friday and international expansion developments there is no reason why this will not reach an all-time high Wednesday (since q1 they have now snapped UP a majority stake in PLT)
Archy147- One of their contributors has always been cautious of Boohoo citing Warren Buffet quotes, unfortunately, he was so very wrong.
I agree you should do whats right for your circumstances but selling 1 trading day before results day is silly...
