Welcome Mick. I am expecting progress from a project mentioned here.
"We have commenced a process with two strategic world technology industry leaders to support the introduction and dissemination in the open compute industry of our 5G UPF offload"
I am digging for info on this and so far I believe it is connected to the Chinese lead standardisation. I believe that it will make the ACEnic-100 UPF a standard part of the tier one process in 5G.
Even the Americans are participating in this because if they don't it will be vhs and betamax all over again.
I was intrigued by this innocent two liner in the results.
This process is going on now and results will be soon as testing starts in a couple of months.
Of course the ACEnic-100 is not the only fpga based device but Ethernity hold patent and this is the most complete and advanced product on the market. In fact others just do bit parts.
Note that we know tier one vendors are already trying to build their own UPF on the ACEnic-100. I am in no doubt that Ethernity will grab a huge chunk of telecom talking to 5G, telecom talking to telecom on tier one and telecom supplying data to clients on tier two.
