I receive PMs from time to time from people who don't post but follow the thread. I receive one last night from a new holder and long term watcher. He/she turned buyer after the update.
The question is a good one so sharing here. If a tiny company like Ethernity can produce a market leading product why don't those worth billions build one better?
The answer has several layers. Ethernity has spent 10 years evolving the ACEnic-100. That experience and Patents cannot be replicated simply with money.
Ethernity are located in a strong skill hub with leadership that has true market vision. Yes they have mistimed some products but these are there waiting for the need to arrive. The portfolio is very rich with adaptable solutions that can be tuned and repurposed rapidly.
They are not precious or egotistical about the part that they play. They have often taken a slice rather than wait for a full pie. That has driven the development of experience and products. They have products to work with any fpga exposing a huge market.
Others have products. Intel for example just released a huge upgrade to their SmartNIC to bring them within range of Ethernity and now Ethernity has added more power and scalability to the range.
5G is all about but parts, large ASICs are losing ground and now best in class is sought at many stages.
UPF, NFV, DU and soon I believe CU the Ethernity are ahead.
Avionics switch, CSR and SDN are areas with huge potential and really for nothing here. The last three contracts were here. The avionics switch appears to be in certification process now and could be a huge seller if it crosses to civil aviation.
