Your PHE, as said the variants have shown the vaccine have been not able to combat all the new variants.

Maybe the lesson here is a simple one, the vaccine were developed when the mutation strains was unknown, maybe they could give the second dose of the vaccine of AZn to see if it will help.
on the data todate, the vaccines can not combat all the mutations and variants.

there is no vaccine that can protect against Covid 19 at 100%.
Biontech 95% , so out of 1000 pple , 50 are not protected That would be a fair comment, and those 50 will transmit the diease and its variants and how it mutates.
Moderna 94.5% so use sam eas above
AZN offical figures based on trails like the above is 62%, but if we said it came in at 85% it still not effective in 100% or 95%
JJ 56-82 efficacy , it comes in at 85% protection against people with serious disease, but only 56% protection in ppl with Moderate disease
Novavax, similar but better due to it trial criteria.

Now you go back over variants and mutations there is no vaccine that can fullfill the role at present.

I am not misleading or be un factual, you show me where any vaccine as been 100% effective against a variant mutation

Why do the UK Government and WHo want CVAC vaccine, they want it becuase they know its going to be able to handle someof the variants and mutations, they want it, because they know now it needed.

By the way, I detest Vaccines, only for one reason, and its nothing to do with AntiVax, its about other medical issues that arise and they are not dealt with how a country should deal with them and accept responsibility .

You need to look at the variants in isolation and the mutations, you look at the ethnicity of those it effects, it was wrong to assume people traveled or came into contact with people who traveled to countries.

AZN wil have to work on there Vaccine with Oxford, and its never a case of one vaccine suiting all in a pandemic.

Mutations are not isolated, they can cross over, so if you assume its a south african strain, then you could be worn , as one strain can mutate with another strain which then brings in what new mutation is formed and how do you treat it.

My point is simple, at this time we do not have any vaccine that protects against all varinats and mutations, its that simple.

The Uk had 20 or 50 cases in Gloucstershire ? perhaps they will update on what they are doing to or have done so far

1351 AZN, Novavax, JJ,, Morderna, Biontech, Sputnick , all failed , even in 484, they failed, not totally, but still failed.
you will also have to go back and see how AZN efficacy is 62%, its trails in the USA are still not complete, it does not mean they fail in totality, it means they can not protect against certain strains, and especially those that the vaccines were never tialed in.
I do not intend to keep answering questions or read publications that dont have all the fatcs when put out

I cant see how these costs have spiraled, it appears there is another 3 .5 years yet, so I simply do not understand the rational for EW and co to rush this through.

GSK made an additional £300 million above what they said on Horlicks , so this separation of the Consumer Health Side, is throwing money away, especially when it providing a decent return.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) today announced the closing of its joint venture with GlaxoSmithKline plc (NYSE: GSK) to combine the parties’ respective consumer healthcare businesses to create the world’s largest over-the-counter (OTC) business with robust iconic brands. As previously announced, under the terms of the transaction, Pfizer owns a 32% equity stake in the joint venture and GSK owns 68%. The combined business, which will operate globally as GSK Consumer Healthcare, will be led by CEO Brian McNamara.

GSK intends to separate the joint venture as an independent company via a demerger of its equity interest to its shareholders and a listing of the joint venture on the UK equity market. GSK will have the sole right to decide whether and when to initiate a separation and listing for a period of five years following the closing. GSK may also sell all or part of its stake in the joint venture in a contemporaneous IPO.

Should a separation and listing occur during the first five years after closing, Pfizer has the option to participate through the distribution of its equity interest in the joint venture to its shareholders or the sale of its equity interest in a contemporaneous IPO. After the fifth anniversary of the closing, both GSK and Pfizer will have the right to decide whether and when to initiate a separation and public listing of the joint venture.

The research and development collaboration combines CureVac's resources and technological expertise in mRNA vaccine development with the scientific experience of the Vaccines Taskforce and the UK's network of experts and capabilities in SARS-CoV-2 vaccine research and development. As part of the collaboration, the VTF, informed by the newly-formed Variant Vaccine Expert Advisory Group, and CureVac, with its unique mRNA vaccine platform, will assess multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants and are expected to generate vaccine candidates against those selected. Clinical studies will be expedited in the UK in order to secure emergency or conditional marketing authorizations for selected vaccine candidates against the most threatening variant viruses.

Curevac is not any run of the mill pharma company, it pioneered the mRNA bio technology, it never rushed it to market

It backers in the earliest days were German Government grant, followed up with Gates Foundation,
Its biggest shareholder is biotechnology driven invetsments.

Germany KfW stuck another 330 million euros in last August, . GSK invested prior to that, and was followed in by Qatar Sov Wealth fund who initially held 4% of the shares

Merkel had kicked the clown Trump down the road before and did it again in June 2020
The EU orders paid for date back to August, the German Government orders are in place as part of injecting capital from over 10 years into Curevac

The UK government as never once taken an interest in Curevac, even when Hal Barron convinced the GSK board to invest and take 10%.

GSK existing contracts always prevented them from doing more with Curevac, but clover proved the route out to help with production of an additional 100 million doeses

I always appreciate reading your posts, so I am going to be careful .
The variants and mutations have many sequences, the sequences to them is difficult and once variant is found, it can be easy to assume , but the science is to sequence everything.

27 variants at present that mutate , no one vaccine can possibly protect , loads of opinions from scientists, but what is known is 3 mutations are not responding to any vaccine

Tweaking vaccines, not that easy. Its different with mRNA , its quicker and can be modified a nd produced in months
