Seems the young generation in the US are shunning any drug-related weight loss fads, Ozempic Wegovy etc., and prefer the "natural health habits" and voicing concern over the risks of the weight-loss drugs.

Well, I may at the moment be one of a smaller band that thinks of OPTi in a totally different way to a lot here.

Some think SOH is selling some SBTX to "keep the lights on". Nonsense. Or, to pay salaries. Again I don't buy that. My view is that the SBTX sales (and they haven't been massive) are necessary to fund our way through the extra orders and deals that have already been announced. We are on the road to profitability now, no question of that, we have the (remote) possibility of a Sweetbiotix deal, but sales are rising nicely from what can be gathered.

The value of our holdings is close to £9m - SBTX looks set to do very well in the coming months, so we aren't very far from our holdings equalling over 50% of our current mcap.

18/19p is a plainly ridiculous cheap price for OPTI.

That, of course, is also without any Sweetbiotix deal, if there's one in the pipeline. The current 18/19p is plainly undervaluing OPTI by a vast margin.

Re the NHS - that is true martinu - but things and times and circumstances change. La Reeves won't want to spend money on things that matter, so a cheaper more natural option may be the way for the clinically obese.

Yes, 4.7m isn't a lot in the big scheme of things. My wife and I have almost 1m between us.

Very interestingSOH's reply to TW yesterday in that (obviously) the pills/jabs vs Slimbiome are targeted at two differing markets - clinically obese v overweight - but the thing I found of positive note was his comment that Slimbiome can/is used as a follow up to the drugs to minimise any side effects. So, maybe SOH and the crew (especially the PR) should be looking at that aspect via maybe the NHS or private clinics. There are plenty of news stories around now about the weight loss drugs, certainly not all of them positive. OPTI now stand out head and shoulders with a purely natural and effective way.

Salient point Wigster, but that hasn[t stopped us going from 15p to 18p in the past few weeks.

I appreciate their mandate is to be out by now, but it's not written in stone by any means and they may decide to stay their hand for a while to see how things pan out.

Gibsonj45 - Tom's maths totally add up, along with his price forecasts, which I actually think could be a bit conservative.

Current mcap at 18/19p is a shade under £18m Our holdings in SBTX and PBX together are worth around £9m. Tom is going for revenues this year of £3m and £5m next. That's not taking into account any possibility of a Sweetbiotix deal. He gets the immediate 30p price by taking a normal p/e for the OPTi business and saying that we should be in profit from the last few months of the year. Also it seems that Morepen and Nouri are above target, and we had another US deal recently announced (which wasn't factored into his original calculations), so in fact the figures and predictions he gives could very well surprise to the upside. I agree with him that the current sp is ludicrously cheap.

He has mentioned 30p as a first target a lot - then a treble from here to around 54p. Also has said he'd be looking seriously at £1 or so within a couple of years.

When you add up what is happening now and their holdings in SBTX and PBX with the prospects going forward it makes a lot of sense.

For those concerned about the "competition" from weight loss pills (and side effects from the jabs/pills) tune in to Tom Winnifrith's latest offering today - a reply from Steve O'Hara about the subject.

Basically they pose no threat at all to OPTI - in fact they are beneficial for us.

As we are just supplying the Slimbiome it will then be down to the US company to do promotion on it Stateside.

They'll do a much better job than our "PR" company here who, frankly, are hopeless. We could have a far bigger market for Slimbiome in the UK if they got their fingers out and considered nationwide advertising for starters. Today's news though is a brilliant further step forward and further underlines the cheapness of OPTI stock.
