Filtering People3 Apr 2019 08:55
This thread canoe a hard read at times. However, regarding filtering people, I don't do it, for fear of not forming an unbiased opinion. Here's what Wikipedia has to say on the subject of confirmation bias...".In social media, confirmation bias is amplified by the use of filter bubbles, or “algorithmic editing”, which shows individuals information that they are more likely to agree with, while excluding opposing views.[86] Some have argued that confirmation bias is the reason why society can never escape from filter bubbles, because individuals are psychologically hardwired to seek information that agrees with our preexisting values and beliefs"
So please everyone, please let's try to keep it mannerly, civil, and grown up eh? Thanks!
