Just for the record. I noticed this in the DM but here's the same from CNN. Dr Catherine Wu : "Wu’s research focused on small mutations in cancer tumor cells. These mutations, which occur as the tumor grows, create proteins that are slightly different to those in healthy cells. The altered protein generates what’s called a tumor neoantigen that can be recognized by the immune system’s T cells as foreign, and therefore susceptible to attack."

Cleaner - I don't agree with your comments, "totally unprofessional" or "fiasco resulted in a share price decline". You are harsh.

One comment is your fair enough opinion and the other is unsubstantiated and how do you know that the decline was resultant not coincidental?

Whilst the delay didn't help, if you in your virtue, can explain why the SP didn't recover after that eventual brilliant update we had in the later Interims, I shall be interested to read. We need to wait for the data and deals - changing the Audit Firm is almost an irrelevance.

Ipad - yes - "Not producing accounts on time is disgraceful". On the other hand, it's a shame to change Auditors too often, they bring insights to the next audit. I'm sure BDO did their best and let's hope next year a Firm half the size of BDO will do better.

I'm afraid there's a chance of a repeat of a hitch whoever audits, because, sometimes stuff happens, in what will still be a small team.

EE - I agree the BDO delay last year was likely to have been caused by "a personal issue involving the audit partner". However, RSM will be no less exposed to such an unfortunate and unlikely event - Scancell is still a small Audit.

Very unlikely that BDO would have caused another delay. And a change of Auditor too often is not a good thing - the RSM team will have to newly acquaint themselves with matters at Scancell with which BDO were by now familiar.

As it happens, BDO are a much larger outfit than RSM, with over 111,000 staff and 1803 offices compared with 50,000 staff and 860 offices, (but Scancell's audit team is probably less than 10 Staff working from 1 office so . . . .)

IMO the change doesn't really matter, although it is good to see Scancell Management in confident and assertive mode !

RSM UK Audit succeed BDO. I wonder if this is anything to do with having a new CFO.

WTP I'm guessing that Scrip opportunity was incidental. But we can surely expect highlighting and wider publicity as more 'proof' arrives. Roll on the day!

Ciaskin many thanks ! WTP - the portents are positive and yes it's about time to do a bit of shouting. Prof. Lindy's inclination is for the science process but I don't underestimate at all, her talent to do the whole task. And with the recent 'beef-ups', although the wait is hard, it's fair to conclude IMO that we are getting there.

But I see the FC duties listed includes treasury, compliance, budgeting, cash flow etc. (pretty much the complete job) and it came to mind that maybe 'there is much else that Sath needs to get involved in which might be deal related and/or taking forward some fundamental/structural moves'.

We shall have to wait and see . . .

Re. "some blame was leveled at our accounts from the auditors". As I remember, BDO accepted full responsibility for the delay in the audit and the release of the figures - (I'd guess some problem with an important member of the Audit staff). And it was a delay but not a debacle . . .

I looked at the details of the FC role and it pretty much covers the majority of the work I would be expecting Sath, our 'new' CFO, to be doing. For me the most likely conclusion to be drawn is that there is much else that Sath needs to get involved in which might be deal related and/or taking forward some fundamental/structural moves for Scancell's future development, (financially that is).

it seemed to me from the Investors Q & A etc. that Sath has a good relationship with our CEO and they seem to work well from the same songbook. It's good that Sath will now oversee the day to day financial work rather than doing it himself. Some useful resource has been freed up.

As Balerno observes, 'Wheelers and dealers usually aren’t anoraks' and there may be much else for Sath to get involved in . . . . . .

So relax, you haven't made a negative input at all. IMO and on the contrary, there are many positives to be read between the lines of this new FC situation.

But while these occasions might bring the opportunity for useful meets, is it fair to say, by and large, that these occasions are part of the scientific rather than the commercial progress of the Company.

It also means, in effect, that new data is likely to come to us via RNS first, if it is price sensitive, either positive or negative, and would not be held back for release at an Event, (unless by amazing coincidence, the data first becomes available on the day of the Event). No Ruck. Not condescending at all but just what I would expect from you - taking the opportunity to dance around at my expense.

Of course Patient meets are a brilliant idea particularly with Trial Investigators updating Patients to understand what is going on. The point is that the 'study investigator at a charity patient conference' is not likely to be the vehicle for presenting deep insights from detailed new data.

But this, "You still don't get it do you?" IS more than a tad condescending. And if you think I don't understand that "It's about how the science actually works in real people and having the funding to see it through", then words fail me.

Good however to see that you are recovering from recent stuff to be your normal charming self again. Go back to bed and get out the other side. ATB

I see that MPC is a 'Patient' meeting - I wonder how that works? (i.e. given that most Patients have limited understanding of science).

I agree with Bojo - Cleaner's 08.48 is a well thought out post with relevance but I also agree that we should not 'build up expectations' for Thursday 29th etc.

Which brings me to a question - new significant data is surely a price sensitive event and there is a duty to inform via RNS? With that in mind I expect to see RNS for new data as the data arrives and it seems odd to me if new data can be withheld for release at a distant conference - (that's why I tend to doubt the usual excitement around these events).

It's just a question - in a nutshell, how can price sensitive data be withheld from Shareholders until the opportunity arises such as AACR or ASCO, where 'previously unpublished data' is a requirement . . . .
