Violin - yes. But you never know . . . . . .
Johnny thanks for that. It is impressive to see Texas BioMed operating in the very highest echelons of power. Whether Scancell got a mention in the hands of Dr. Akudo Anyanwu, Texas BioMed's VP of Development we don't know. In her 'moderating', I guess she had many matters in mind, let's hope we saw the light of day. Whether something different can ever make a breach in the highly sponsored mRNA tunnel (in which most thinking seems to be entrenched), remains to be seen.
I'm a great fan of Covidity and would be ecstatic if an alternative to the mRNA vax was available. I confess to being cynical that Covidity will ever progress from the shelf it's on, regrettably. My cynicism is partly rooted in the fact that NO progress
resulted from this great early mention from the CEPI https://cepi.net/news_cepi/going-universal-the-search-for-an-all-in-one-coronavirus-vaccine/
But you never know !! Thanks again.
Hi Cleaner - yes JPM is a big deal - even bl**dy Tony Blair in attendance! Have Scancell been before at all ? ATM it seems we're not going so I don't see who would be likely to mention the SCOPE progress.
I suppose Redmile might be there but ?
Sorry to be unenthusiastic but I don't see what's in it for Scancell. ATB
???
Re. your 14.42 yesterday - "I think the cash raise and subsequent dilution is a strong indicator that there are no suitors or potential partners currently in play. If a deal was close, then the need to raise cash would not be required".
OR, if BoD have 'suitors' hovering or interested, it's important not to be backed up against a cash wall.
Re. your comments to Ruck - IMO it is 'justifiable' indeed to reject your comments. Violin has much experience in these fields and it's quiet here. Just a chat between virtual acquaintances and that's OK - live and let live ?
I'm concerned to see Covid advancing in the UK again, last estimate I saw was 1:16 infected in London - that's serious. Personal experiences are interesting amidst the statshttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-12889261/The-REAL-nightmare-Christmas-Covid-rates-double-fortnight-one-16-people-infected-worst-hit-parts-UK.html
Cheer up - the chat will soon be about Scancell, when there's news.
HNY to you when it comes . . . .
Discharge ! That's great news Ruck. GWS
Thanks Ruck. GWS.
Ruck - sorry to hear that and wishing you a swift recovery.
Apparently, in the UK, 1 in 24 has Covid atm.
FWIW did you have your boosters?
TCOY
It'll be another quiet day here I guess. Wednesday was a one off, with NO posts at all, either here or 'over there'.
Wishing all here a Very Happy Christmas and looking forward to Prosperous New Year.
Cleaner/Johnny - thanks for that 'San Antonio' link where Covidity is discussed at 46 minutes. Ray, thanks for comments about vaccine 'memory' - as said, the short duration of protection of mRNA vaccines is at the heart of growing 'vaccine hesitancy'.
Bermuda has pointed out that "Texas Biomedical aren't a Biotech" and they're "not a commercial organisation".
Nevertheless I think it fair to hope that 'shakers and movers' are still aware of Covidity, and as we see the virus around again, SURELY, someone, somewhere, will take an interest.
Living in hopes - for Covidity and for me, I'd like to have a better Covid vaccine. Please !
There we are :-
"The Open Offer closed for acceptances at 11.00 a.m. on 18 December 2023. The Company is pleased to announce that it has received valid applications under the Open Offer (including under the Excess Application Facility) in respect of 11,136,877 Open Offer Shares (the "New Open Offer Shares") at 11 pence per New Open Offer Share from Qualifying Shareholders raising gross proceeds from the Open Offer of £1.2 million."
That's it ! Let's get on with science, trials, data and deals now!
Clear road ahead. GLA
Yes Violin, fingers crossed for an OO update today and I trust it's been a success, as in fact, a seamless bit of 'dilution' (gulp). But then it's onwards and maybe upwards as the data and news comes in. Looking forward to January and having that pint with you, in Chantaburi, one day. ATB
Violin ? "I think we all need to take comments from the CEO with a pinch of salt".
But she didn't comment did she ?? She "Kept pretty tight lipped".
That's confusing . . . but 11 recs MMmmm
Myself I think we are lucky to have such a straightforward and brilliant scientist as our CEO.
I'm sure she takes advice as to how to conduct these matters.
Very funny Bojo :-
"'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!! "
Thanks for the thought Bojo - here's the full chuckle - hilarious http://montypython.50webs.com/scripts/Series_1/53.htm
As for Covidity - time will tell . . . . .
Johnny/Cleaner - thanks and I really hope there's something in that angle - if for no other reason that I myself, would be 'chuffed to beans' if there was an alternative, safe and improved vaccine for Covid 19 and it's successors.
Just for context, I recall Bermuda bringing some context to Texas BioMed thoughts, Nov 30th 11.33, "TF - just to clarify that Texas Biomedical aren't a biotech, they're a not for profit research institute funded by government grants and public donations (hence the PR). So they're not a commercial organisation."
Anyway hope springs eternal and you never know ! ATB
Cleaner / Violin - you two are gonna fret yourselves crazy. On the boundaries of science as we are, this takes time.
Scancell have actually upped their relevant PR in recent months, so hang on.
And wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New January. ATB
Thanks Bojo - RNS on the OO on Tuesday hopefully. As you say, with the 'Season' approaching, it'll be January before things settle down here - unless we get some news. ATB
Maybe Monday 18th we'll get an RNS giving the results of the OO - it'll be good to get that out of the way. Is it due Monday ?
Re. previous - NOT 'Strong Sell' btw !!
Concluding a discussion over there, Marcus' quotes, (7414), "Re Scib-1, the Moderna guy said to Lindy at a conference "If you are correct then we are in trouble" and Marcus comments, "Of course good news about any cancer vaccine does us no harm at all". Agreed.
Inan (7412/3) - "ISCB1 could be a game changer. Can we reduce the amount of CPi and lower toxicity compensating with a more potent vaccine? MODERNA cannot .......... they don't have the ORR rate to play with so imagine the scenario (if) Scancell (is) able to lower Cpi. Well if it can then lower the CPi, it can in the adjuvant setting as well, thus Costs efficacy and toxicity come into play."
I've tried to add puncs so apologies if I've distorted anything at all, but the full discussion can be seen over there.
Interesting I thought. Plenty of science and optimism around ! GLA
With money in the bank, full steam ahead is the instruction.
Burble, thanks for those thoughts re. iSCIB1+ - wow !
Marcus over there posted yesterday - "In case anyone has not seen this.

The first link was particularly enjoyable, revisiting RG's reminiscences and his comment in overview that, "nothing comes close to the excitement around Moditope" !
The second link is the ProActive interview with CEO about the Phase 2 SCOPE trial . . . . . .
Lastly, the AGM recording supplied by Botski - where "Lindy Durrant describes Scancell as a "world leader in cancer immunology" - thanks to RR for that.
All in all - well done Team Scancell !! Roll on a re-rate . . . .
