I was just about to jump in on Noel but you beat me to it. They didnt mention any oil, Condensate or NGL's so not sure if Noel will produce any of these in significant quantities. I did recall I3E saying something about increasing their exposure to oil which makes it interesting why they appear to have gone for Noel first.

In the short term oil is more profitable, but in the medium to long term - I think Gas is going to be more profitable or atleast close the gap. A couple of reasons - gas is going to be more important going forward as part of lowering Carbon footprints and as a consequence demand is projected to fall off more slowly than oil. Secondly - there is a Canadian LGN Project which will increase the demand for Canadian Gas. Unfortunately for I3E - this is still some years off from producing LNG.

Agreed - this should be factored into the calculation. Not sure it makes equates to I3E having a higher MC than PTAL - im not sure your saying this in anycase.

I saw Jungmana post this earlier - I have taken a look and have the following comments:

1) Although production is similar, it appears that PTAL's production is nearly / all oil which attract much higher pricing than Gas or Condensates per bbl. This means their revenue and cashflow will be significantly higher.
2) The have a definitive timeline and progam to increase this to 20,000 bopd in the near future.
3) For balance - their debt is slightly higher.

So in short its not quite an apples and apples comparison. That said I agree that I3E should be sitting significantly higher than it is now imo.

A guestimate based on I3E saying they will announce in the 1st quarter and the requirement to send a circular on the Capital reduction to SH's a minimum 2 weeks prior to any vote.

the next drivers of the SP

1) A circular to shareholders before the 10th March on the Capital Reduction / dividend.

2) FO news before the end of March (if the FO happens this year). Appraisal has to happen before joint development with Repsol whichs means drilling this year. If Repsols FID is a negative - I can see I3E pushing back potential drilling until next year and focus on deploying funds in Canada.

3) 1st quarter update by 3rd week of April.

Certainly a change in attitude from Monday when you posted the message below. For someone that has access to "experts in every field" - your conviction seems a little wavery to say the least.

"Absolute shambles, wish I never heard of i3e and its useless BoD.
No idea how much we are currently producing, no idea about cash on hand, what profit the company is making and no dividend in Q1.

I3e have no interest in the SP unless they need to dilute shareholders.

40 plus staff and a BoD on over £500,000, starting to look like a lifestyle company.

In any case - i'm on a win / win here - if it opens in the 6.5 -7.5 p range - my comments are vindicated. If it opens up at 20p - ive made a bit of money and get to eat a bit of humble pie at the same time. Whats not to like !

I've not sold a bean - just calling out the ramping or indeed deramping. Since I have no insider information I will make or lose money on I3E based on the fundamentals - not people trying to make a fast buck by peddling false information.

Ease up on the beers and make sure you have a clear head before you gobble up 10p shares. You really think that I3E will open up at 10p after nearly 30M shares traded today in the 6 to 7p range by a market that knows I3E pretty well versus a few shares traded on the TSX by a Market that doesnt know I3E at all?

One of the few bright spots in afternoon trade - 1,000,000 buy - looks like it might have been reversed ? Did you see it.

As Bawana mentioned - very illiquid and the volume is tiny (UKP 30K). It has often gone up 10-20% one day only to fall back to parity with the AIM the next day and always on tiny volume.

I would tread very carefully if anyone is looking to rush in tomorrow morning on the back of this.

I think at the current PPO - Farmout is a real possibility. However, after todays update i'm more optimistic that I3E can generate significant value from its Canadian Assets and therefore are less reliant on Serenity putting it in a stronger negotiating position with potential farm-out partners.

Next RNS will surely be within 2-3 weeks max - they have to put out a circular including a "Going Concern Statement" to shareholders a minimum two weeks prior to any vote on the Capital reduction if they are to declare a dividend this quarter.

Genuine question (to pre-empt any accusations of deramping) because i have no knowledge / data on IG or spread betting. But the volume today has been substantial - would this not have been washed out by now?

Taken at face value - the RNS appears to be very positive especially production numbers and high impact well. Put your hands up if you expected the SP to have risen higher than it currently stands after an RNS like todays?

The Oil price is very positive as are the near term projections, but lets see what it looks like after the next OPEC meeting and in medium term.

Have you compared todays earnings guidance against the broker estimates?

No green light and there is always risk - DYOR !

Currently trading at over a 50% free cash flow yield (estimate). Not sure I've come across anything cheaper.

Does anyone know of a comparable small cap that trades on similar or cheaper metrics?
