JC has only just started to trust others with delegation (Anil) and if he had a few more contracts running, which he may well have, he should start appointing Dep CEO's in locations like Iran.
He still has a good market but he should now be supervising from a HOT seat in Cambridge and flying off for the odd showdown. Currently we are not getting beyond him jetting around the world.

Morning LTI.. That's where we disagree. If you refer back, the SP rose on China and then Colour etc pulled the declaration to pieces. In this day and age no more secrets, JC has been in China long enough and as we know there are only two Utilities, so with this great big market JC has achieved a $4m deal over 2 years without saying how many units and price per unit. So questions marks are raised, has JC given it away for a quick deal (I think not) or has he achieved market price.
Without critical information the SP will slowly fall.
JC left it too long last time eventually saying he did not know why SP had fallen.
Incidentally do you know where the 5m share buy went to. That is 3% and nobody cares. What do you think Colour.

A bit cloak and dagger, Chem.. But quite rightly nobody knows. Colour now that SMETS2 is underway I consider it right to start bringing their supposed figures into play. Hopefully there will not be any big R&D costs arising near term. JC should have given more information regarding China i.e. sole contract, part leasing, numbers etc. I think this was all done at speed, not to our detriment, as he was only travelling there the week before. Unknown yet but China could be a big earner.

Hello All.. Well somebody has made a few bob, mainly dealers. No reason for any of this, just a rattle of the cage. Facts have not improved but not got worse. What's 0.5m move when about 2 months ago 5m had no effect. Cant have shares sitting still, no turn, so bounce them up and down.
I am sure we will get our figures out shortly but surprised still waiting.
Must say I am doing better elsewhere but should hear soon. Even with existing contracts, UK, leasings etc we should be above break-even so why no comment from JC. Perhaps all making cheap buys, I would.

Just keep looking for that golden egg as long as it does not come from a giant goose (Company) and crush you (and us).

Good observation overfiend.. formal declarations are important. It can move forward.
Colour you say they wasted 8 years but that is nothing UK does that regularly and often then abandons.
I am sure CC will expand at speed in India. The current intent of giving basic electricity to all villages will probably not improve the coffers of Utilities and possibly the Government will have to make it free initially.
CC comes into its own where existing usage is being stolen and Government offices are defrauding their declarations.
Using Smart the Utilities will have control over all aspects of usage, including organised supplies (outages) so any quick solution that will improve their income and costs will be grabbed.

We have all got money in the pot (well most) so it is in our interest to see the bright side of Life.
I was hoping we would get some firm information from JC before year-end but not.
That does not mean things have changed, we know the burn rate but just do not know the income rate which even if small, and I am not thinking that, will offset a bit.
I would like to have seen more information regarding Beijing contract, not enough detail, even just to have quoted per unit would have sufficed and what follows order.
January sees the finish of Connode offices so a reduction.
At this stage I would be concerned if JC was entering into more R&D before getting reasonable returns to date.

Woolley, I would not worry about volumes. I mentioned last month that a buy went through of 5m shares and the SP hardly flickered. Surprising considering total shares are less than 200m. Hold your horses and wait for these H2 results, I still think we on a rise, with R&D mostly spent and new contracts (China) appearing. Although I only dabble with AIM (2 companies) I would have been out of CC if I did not see light at the end.

stedon, nailed it in one, chance. That's AIM, like it or not risky. JC has talked it up over the years but we are in a position currently with SMETS2 starting and updated Omni (Canopy) to expected stable income and higher returns from new contracts.
jake, yes you have provided information but is it current. With UK contract southern I understand CC is the only contractor in the contract for RF.

Hello BonesJones.. Quite a few changes, we lost SS earlier but I think that was to help out financially, currently OK. SS still has his shares, nice chap, hope he returns to the fold.
JC as usual has talked up the opportunities regularly but has encountered obstacles ranging from new competitors to new ideas and demands.
However in June 18 CC updated their Omni software, they broke new ground in being able to connect various platforms ( which others could not) making it a desirable product which can importantly be rolled out quickly.
India has had a slight change in direction, using I believe Dumb meters in cheaper rural areas, ask Colour, but I think that by the time the bigger towns are fully 'Smart' the dumbs will be upgraded. Only an opinion. India is not going to stand still.

Apart from China we had heard nothing from JC so that could account for it. No use bouncing little SP comments around when nothing is happening.
I think we have run out of talk-talk time for JC this year but Q1 should have a few more addons.
I think coming quarters will be good, they can have CC for £24bn, LOL, but you just never know the path that CC is taking.
Simple solutions are often very successful, especially if costs are low.

Hopefully not, jake, but always lurks in background. JC has been in China for years so knows many of the problems and has gone along this route. Others are complaining regarding their patents and some do not do business in China even.
My thoughts are, as vital as this last mile bit of software is, it is not expensive (say like a $1000 a go) so would be a cheap payment for Beijing. The problem would be if rivals can break it, but may be they would go along same route with licence.
It could be a gold mine hopefully; if taken up the field is massive.
Open question, do Intel or ARM have the above concerns as many of their prices must be small.

Blimey Colour, you talk about me but you are really on another planet. Downtrodden people who are shown the light breakout and demand attention. You have seen the way IT has marched forward everywhere.
Fable: Taiwan, became the centre for electronics. The work poured in and was too much, the walking population got bicycles to encourage them, not good enough they wanted cars and houses. Outcome the cheap prices rose promptly as the workers got their demands. The Work was farmed out to villages on the mainland (the enemy state but business) and rubber stamped TAIWAN to keep the world happy. Nobody is ever satisfied.

Hello Colour.. To the contrary, I do not see it that way. As I see it India electrification was bumbling along, not going far because they wanted the latest and best for nothing. So they opted for a non-smart (dumb) meter, some made by unknown manufacturers for speed, strangely India Government caused the years of delay, that's politics.
What I am saying is that only a percentage can be managed each year in either camp and with CC having been successful in Mysore (more so recently with upgrade) and now expanding, their footprint will grow. With leasing that can't be bad.
My other point is that as soon as people see what others are getting, regardless of status, they want it, it's nature, especially with the young and a light bulb will not suffice.
How does your observations fit in with India wants all to be smart or do you think that has been abandoned?. To me they will look around them, Indonesia etc and not want to be out gunned. Just keep watching.

Gives CC longer to ramp up contracts and sales if they going to with Canopy etc..
We now have a separation between Smart and None-Smart, even though it was said that all would be smart. If CCgets enough contacts they will have their work cut out in supply. By that time the non-smarts would have got used to electricity and want more, then probably a further generation of smart, possibly even Retrofit.
CC were only going to get a percentage of India. We will have to see what percent..

Well a final Merry Christmas, don't eat too much.
Everytime time I predict a date it always overruns.but I am happier than having no forecasts to look forward to.
With small companies it always occurs to me that they are trying to create something from virtually nothing (money wise).
With AIM I know the situation, I do not have more than a couple and treat it as a risk/return gamble.
The main thing is we are just sitting on our bums, and apart from cash do nothing.

Q1, Q2 2019 will require good answers from JC, if all that he has said is near correct then should be enough to raise SP in the year. Failing that there may well be questions asked.
No, never heard of derivatives claim only class action. Never been down that route.
