Hello Vas.. No, my thoughts are the overall concept of smart cities which revolves around energy, even if they have to run out new mains and smart meters to start the ball rolling. I think for tier 2 cities etc States will have to have two bites of cherry to get systems up and running. Once the likes of INDORE, and there thousands of them, get on top of supplies, costs, outages etc they can then look at more objectives such as redesiigning whole towns. After all you cant turn 'Dodge City' into a Singapore Glass Town over night, it will probably be in stages over a long period but requiring more energy along the way.

Just a bit of light reading.
Old doc which reflects Indore etc at that time. Some contracts progress others do not.
This highlights IPv6 with updated Omni. The CC RF has obviously worked in INDORE and has attracted good interest. As with most India projects things do not happen overnight but INDORE may change all that. It would appear that India has settled on a system that suits them, is easier and speedy to roll out, efficient and could be an exceedingly good earner.

Strong, do we know that MSEDCL have installed 5m meters and they are Smart IPv6 and have they had 99% satisfaction, if not you are telling porkies and leading a sell group. Must be sure of your facts. I don't know these details but I am sure you do. or MNM does.
The reason I say this is because the 120,000 INDORE installations were said to be the biggest yet in India. Confusing to say the least.

Strong you must ask yourself is this market manipulation.
EESL was not wise in the way it went about getting the cheapest no matter if they were meter manufacturers or not.
However they quickly learned the system was not working and revised their requirements and included CC with Anil giving expert advice. I would say EESL being administrators as opposed to installers have got the situation well under control.

Many amongst us can read technical detail not me. My interpretation is if they got a taker it would be for more $10.
If this is the second largest utility in India and successful why have not all the others, who are loosing masses of cash, not been on their doorstep including EESL who has an eye for a bargain.
Question is did that level ever come to fruition and why was it not adopt by everybody.

Hello MayNotMatter.. You are probably right, it may not matter. The technicals will need to be looked at but it seems surprising that you are bring this up at this late hour, spite?
CC have been in Mumbai and presumably not picked up on this.
EESL cover the whole country and have not picked up on it.
They were using 2.4 and now moved to below 1 or have they. There is a reference to hand held on 2018 spec.
I am not technical but this seems to differ from requirements. CC should be all over this tomorrow and give us thoughts.
Anil is probably looking at it right now.

LTI, I will have to stop saying this but my thoughts exactly. If this is tender 4 then it was all done before the Nov 19 round table meeting. So could as well be scrapped upon a re think as not even allotted.
I think big decisions have been made elsewhere as to where Smart India is going, looked at Indore who appear to be the only happy bunnies in India energy at present and decided we will have some of that especially as Indore is saving a lot of money very early which is the dream happening.
LTI Isa may have been an early change to avoid being accused of trading on good news should it happen shortly.

tony.s.. I support your observation. Strong is one of the clan.
Apart from US, Smart was new almost everywhere else 10 years ago. It's now refined to the point where it can go ahead reliably and in the case of Indore progressively, low cost and that is why I feel EESL is looking at CC.
As we are part of a chain I do not think our contracts will come directly from EESL but Genus and others, however I think CC will be stipulated in the contracts by EESL and this will open us to the world.

Morning LTI.. Nicely summarised. Looks to me like Smart never really got underway in its early stages. Tenders issued, not completed and withdrawn. Part of any new idea, of which CC also suffered, if you cant get the footfall into the shop you have to keep reinventing your wares.
This new display via INDORE has caught the eye and I feel is about to take off especially with the keen interest of EESL.
No use arguing old facts around in circles. This next period up to new Y/E should tell us where we stand.

Well Colour, I did not really have the time but located the item on page 8 of 14. What a load of rubbish you spout.
We have been with Genus a few years so you do not know what is inside those meters and we now have the RF requirement. Secondly in 7 years they did not meet the Government targets on Smart. Thirdly these new regulations presumably require a lot more sophistication hence CC coming onto the general scene at EESL invitation.
Also earlier Chinese gear may not have been up to standard but China moves fast. Don't underestimate.

Well Colour.. In that case I cannot see that supposition of yours that Genus has a meter of its own that fulfills the necessary requirements of the new regulations. Logic says they would not be putting credit out to CC if they could do it themselves.
