Am I missing something SatellitePro? What would JCB be ordering from ITM? I'd have thought they would be more interested in fuel cells for diggers rather than hydrogen generation.

Unless you're thinking that they would have to offer a refueling solutiontoo, if they were to start doing fuel cell diggers? I haven't looked up JCB products. Do they already do fuel cell diggers?

dsc1978, Tesla Semi's are only relevant (and is a no-brainer) where they meet the operator's usage/cycle requirements...so not long haul and not multiple-cycle operation. For long-haul or high cycle (e.g. all day operation across multiple shifts) the competition is not Tesla, it's diesel. That's potentially tricky for Nikola in USA as fossil is so cheap there. I suspect that's why they're starting with the Tre model and will be in Europe first where fossil is already expensive. It'll be interesting to see if they can eventually pull it off, but I'll be surprised if it's the Tesla offer that kills it. In trucking terms the use case could be way more important than the basic cost of the truck.

Announcement this morning from Nel...

"(Oslo, 30 June 2020) Nel Hydrogen Fueling, a division of Nel ASA (Nel, OSE:NEL) has received a purchase order for multiple H2Station™ units from a large international company.

"We are honored that the company has chosen to go for our H2Station™ fueling solution, and we look forward to support their fueling station deployment", says Ulrik Torp Svendsen, Key Account Manager, Nel Hydrogen Fueling.

The value of the purchase order is in excess of NOK 150 million, and the H2Station™ modules which will be used for fueling of passenger vehicles in an existing market for Nel will be installed on multiple sites during 2021. Additional information on the project will be provided in the second half of 2020."

...although, to be fair, looks like this flight wasn't hydrogen yet. Just their battery-electric stepping stone on the development path. Hopefully the hydrogen version isn't too far behind.

Brilliant. I recently listened to the "Everything about Hydrogen" podcast interviewing ZeroAvia. Great to see them still managing to stay on track despite recent covid events.

I really dislike the idea of the skies being full of delivery drones - fuel cell or otherwise. They don't exactly run in 'stealth mode'. Just as we start to get rid of all those clanking diesels we then choose to fill the air with the continuous drone from drones. Typical.

Great video link dsc1978. I guess I don't agree with his amount of scepticism over hydrogen, but I suppose that's because I think he doesn't have a full grasp of all the technologies he mentioned, or how they're interrelated. In a chicken and egg scenario he seems to have his thinking about renewables and hydrogen the wrong way round. Also, no consideration of heavy transport or the existing global demand for hydrogen which is likely to face a lot of pressure to go green.

To be fair, he seems to only be considering Hydrogen as an alternative to battery and perhaps he hasn't considered all the industrial and power uses for Hydrogen. I agree with him that it seems overvalued when only measured against recent revenue. I wonder how long it'll be before we will see a greatly increased revenue figure from ITM. 18 months??

I'm not intending a de-ramp here...I am a LTH. But by show of hands who thinks we'll see 200 or below again?

ControlzFreak, it's been discussed a lot over on ITM. Bamford owns Wrightbus and Ryse and has created the H2Bus consortium. ITM is not in H2Bus, but Nel is, so likely the business will go there instead.

psmith64, I've seen this before. Having made a quick gamble and won, it sounds like you're feeling invincible - like you can always call it. I wish you the best of luck, but please be careful. There are a lot of temporary's out there that end up long term holds. Only plus here is I think a LTH is ok.

fluffyjoe, I assume you're talking about CCS. I don't think any amount of 'thinking again' is going to make me think that CCS is a good solution. If it's stored as CO2 gas anywhere it's either going to leak out somewhere or you're paying a third party to store it forever which therefore costs more than the fuel that it originated from. I heard a while ago about a solution to turn it into rock form so it can't escape. I guess that would work as long term storage. I just can't get excited about it. Switching to hydrogen seems simpler to me.

Then again...hopefully won't be needing any Grafysorber in a fully hydrogen economy and we get to leave the fossil safely in the ground.

The other slight difference is the total value of a long term holding is up 10x. So the same 10% daily swings have a bigger effect on your total portfolio valuation than they did last year. I'm wondering if I'll still have the nerve for 10% daily swings when my ITM stock holding is worth £1m in 5 years time... lets hope so :-)

The recent history of Graphene is essentially an accidental discovery. In that regard it's really a solution looking for a problem to solve. Hydrogen on the other hand is already a well established commodity in industrial applications and has fairly easy to see alternative future applications. The only question over hydrogen really is whether the switch to green hydrogen produced by electrolysis (for us - specifically PEM) is going to reach the demand we're all hoping for.

Still no guarantee of company success. And still no guarantee of stock not being destroyed by game-playing traders.
