The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
That is a startling thought. Testing is here to stay even as we master the virus through vaccination. I do think point of use rapid testing of high accuracy will be the answer and I am confident NVCT will crack this. Needs to be low cost and able to use easily. I thought saliva tests may be the next breakthrough but that looks like it is not going to work any time soon. This virus is a nightmare and I really hope we focus some serious efforts in understanding it’s origin. We don’t want this repeating every few years!
Now that’s a very philosophical question for a Sunday. Be careful not to seek riches in the markets without really doing your research. Investing when not a professional is very risky. This BB is very good but we are all amateurs and most of us will have got burned at some point and have as many winners as losers on our record.
Generally there are no short cuts to riches and money is not the source of true happiness though making it can be fun. Some very wise words from all replies here so take them on board!
Not sure why the surprise. Viruses mutate all the time. Just look at influenza! We will be in a long term fight with this virus and I for one am looking forward to the investigation on how on earth this thing started and how we might mitigate or prevent other new outbreaks in the future. It’s amazing at how little this is discussed not necessarily here but on the news. One thing for sure, this virus was not of our making.
It will be massed produced and give coverage in other parts of the world outside the U.K. you have to remember the flu vaccine gives only 50 to 60 per cent cover at best and has been saving lives for years. As Boris suggested it’s a race now not just in the U.K. but around the world to as many people vaccinated as possible. The U.K. seem to be doing quite well vs our Euro partners!
Troublesome if you find a tongue in cheek comment about the clown and enemy of this country offensive then your damning comments and often very unjustified criticism of the government are a disgrace. I’ll remind you re vaccines: U.K. had 3rd best distribution record currently after Israel and Bahrain.
Anyway, let’s not do politics. I read the Mail and you read the morning Star so we are unlikely to agree.
Troublesome
Look I’ve read many posts on here that could be construed it that way and it’s easy to get carried away. Your posts are good except when you are being overtly political. This is a great BB and just occasionally we need the tone to be a little more of the greater good. NVCT are playing their part for sure and are doing their bit to ensure we learn to live with and control the disease.
I take no pleasure in the continued nightmare spread of this terrible virus. I also think we can wish for the virus to be run out of town and still be invested here. I despair at times when some posters seem pleased the vaccines won’t work, the variants will override the vaccine etc. I am heavily invested here and will hold for the next few years and also hope this virus is controlled sooner rather than later. These two hopes are not mutually incompatible.
A change of subject from the tyre kicking Avacta evangelist. NVCT will obviously buy other companies or assets or maybe even diversify into Med devices or Pharma. They have the money and could also leverage. What is your money on? I can see a few small diagnostic acquisitions and maybe some diversification into devices. Thoughts? This is a good way to fend off the likes of Roche Diagnostics, Menarini and other suitors who will be lining up to bid for this little gem!
The number of new jobs being posted is a real confidence boost. You do not build this kind of headcount or infrastructure unless you are building a long term sustainable and growing turnover.
This is a mid cap in the making and a multi billion mkt cap organisation in the short term.
Capt Stanley clearly smoking dope this morning
The whole article is as well described a storm in a teacup. I am mystified why mischief makers get off on trying to stir the pot. If you are an AvCT evangelist good luck to you. I think I would need to believe in god to be invested there. It must be hard to reconcile that whilst NVCT are printing money for fun AVCT are missing the party and will in all likeliness miss out totally on the Covid opportunity. Good luck Captain, I hope you don’t put all your pennies in that lemon of a share!
Time for cool heads. Nothing material in this for me. I will be surprised if Novacyt respond. No issues with the product just with users. These can and will and are being resolved.
Can we sell all the kit and tests we are making? I am sure we can!
Porky, the news on the vaccine is great. We should all celebrate. Regarding NVCT it will be adding to its cash pile and transforming into a mid cap Diagnostics company. We don’t have to be worried or opposed to vaccines. We will work hand in hand with them. NVCT is underrated but will kick on soon. Keep the faith.
