One wonders what were the surveyors and safety check personal were doing, let alone the the snagging engineers, and what about the Architect that should have been doing regular build reports and checking if the works were conforming to the specification, the lot of them should be sacked or something along those lines, what a disgrace.

Yes you would have thought the Timber used in the frame and outside wooded cladding would be well fire treated, if that's the case I wonder why the whole block went up in minutes like a bonfire in fact. ?? It went up so quick the Brigade could not control it according to my friend that lives opposite the block that perished in the fire.

I think the main problem with the ones in question is that all of the external is wood ( Not Brick ) together with timber frame and the fire sealing was not adequate to contain a fire and the construction lit up like a firework and burnt out of control in minuets.

I have no problem with this type of construction but all the necessary fire precautions MUST be adhered too and in this case they were not hence the terrible fire. It was a blessing that the adjacent properties did not catch fire as well.

I would never buy a timber frame base house as a friend om mine who lived in one sent me this and he lived very close by and had to be evacuated.

He has put his 2 bed flat up for sale and nobody is interested whatsoever, he feels that he will never get rid of it now and is very concerned indeed. The flats are American - Style and on a huge estate with 100's of 2-4 bedroom houses of exactly the same build. So anyone thinking about wood frame forget it.

earthling hi, ( sounds like I am speaking from "Mars" lol.

I am afraid nobody really knows just yet but we are expecting some updates soon on further drill results at Hav, and other news too.
Keep an eye open Monday and Tuesday for sure as the Newcrest Annual General Meeting is set for 12 November 2019 so maybe we might get a little news Monday before the AGM but that's just a guess on my behalf.

Just got back in, got soaked, the heavens opened up, it was sunny when I went out for a little shopping.

Yes totally agree and the amount of money allotted to assist site welfare and facilities is fantastic and that's not taking into account Health and safety costs. TW pride themselves with their attitude towards their safety policies and they stick to them, sending all operatives on H&S courses and site inductions. This we know comes at a "Cost" and for some to say any different have no clue how site work has changed over the past 15 years and I agree with you, For the better !!

Yes I do agree with peace on all boards but I was attempting to making a point.

The post complained about Builders margins are too high, massive bonuses for directors and excessive dividends for shareholders. I worked for TW for 14 years and I assure that they do not have high profit margins as most of their works are very competitive to say the least as you may know. Competition is fierce and margins are cut if anything to get the work. Another thing is the Bonuses are NOT excessive at all and their remunerations are known and published and they work very hard to boot, I know !! To go on to say "excessive dividends for shareholders" what a load of nonsense as they are returning money to investors and who can complain about that, and that's one reason for investing in the first place ????

He goes on to say one another board "to be successful 2 times out of 3 and has generated me returns of over 10% on average for many years. I hold for a year and then sell"

And may I point out that is in respect to Easy Jet one of the "Jet set companies" and have loads of more cash to spread about on their Directors, investors and have very High margins and one of the largest NON green companies around, AIR pollution for example.

That was my point in reply to his pop at House builders in general, and to ask him why he is investing in the company that he is complaining about and that's what rattled me as I thought it was in bad taste, all in my opinion and yes get back to a bit of peace :-)))

What makes me mad is that he only posts now and again then comes out with a blinding statement that he contradicts on another board. He has done the same quite a few times before.

I just looked at your last post on EZJ where you stated :-

And you have the nerve to come on our board to complain when YOU are doing exactly what you are condemning the house builders for, IE making a bit when they can. You are a disgrace to say the least.
