sonora is not a clay deposit... it’s shale... soft rock... and easy to process to lithium sulfate... using the conventional century old lithium sulfate process...
producing $8,000 to $9,000 per tonne industrial grade lce is the easy bit... (offtake with tesla was 99.9% battery grade reportedly capped at below the then current market value of $6,000/t lce)...
only 1/3rd of the sonora lithium project drilled out... for a 250year asset... (bfs is a 19year $1.25bn npv8 project)... 2/3rd’s yet to drill...

not forgetting that if bcn were to do a project update using the full 100+year reserves... for a 70/100ktpa lce organically scaled production facility... it’d likely blow all our socks off...

i agree with your calc... using the production rates in the dfs... 120kt ore per year would produce around 2ktpa lce... so yes... @$13,000/t that's about $26m per year of free samples... supplied directly to hanwa’s customer(s) in japan... aka panasonic... and most likely now driving around in the new tesla model 3’s as we speak... field testing... ;)
