GM, showing your ignorance there? the trial date is set currently for the week commencing 13 November. Today's hearing is an application, for what, who knows? may be to postpone trial as the case isn't ready to be heard in November? who knows? I thought IKN might fill us in as the TG have access to the caseboard site, but it seems not on this occasion. Wonder why?

Did anyone ascertain what today's court hearing is about?

Guys I found this interesting article published recently on Tom Palmer, Newmont president and CEO who spoke at the recent World Mining Congress. Don't forget Palmer went to Newmont from Rio Tinto Zinc where he had spent two decades with Rio!!! Wonder what Newmont and Rio have planned? and where will Greatland fit in? This could be very interesting!

Note how he highlights the copper deficit.

Also, under the section "Society and investors" he states, "It is about establishing and maintaining long lasting relationships built on trust and respect, relationships that have at their foundation the creation of safe, healthy and equitable workplaces."

So what news does anyone think SD is bringing with him that he can divulge bearing in mind the Newcrest vote will not have taken place at this point in time? just news about the asx listing? or might he also have the independent MRE to hand to discuss? and where does that leave Newcrest if he divulges it prior to their vote?

Jiffy, thanks for this, I've just read the ggp chat link you posted, and whilst, as an investor, this all seems to align in our favour as GGP shareholders, I'm still concerned that Newcrest retail investors are going to be sold short by losing that 70% of Telfar/Hav through the takeover, which seems rather unfair to them, but as 5x5 said, there is little they can do about it as the instis/funders have the clout when it comes to the vote. I still don't think Rio will want Newmont involved with us, which then by association, involves them with Newmont so to speak. They are competitors angling for the top spot in the gold rush, and so I would hope that Rio might help us to enable a complete buy out of Newmont's 70% share and see the back of them. my views.
