If we are looking at why Avacta has such huge potential and why it is different from Novacyt?
1. Avacta produces Affirmer technology this is material which provides analysis which is super accurate not only at picking up the exact match for the virus but with combinations the stage at which the virus is at. This is not only unique it is tested and proven. All that needs to happen is that this needs to be applied to the Lateral Flow Device (Note Avacta have already used LFD for testing before, so they know the Affirmers work on them. Then it is only about approval. Given how accurate this is it is a procedure. If you listened to last weeks presentation then you would understand this.
2. Avacta has already a number of other Affirmer technology projects in place with other applications (non-Covid19 related).
3. Avacta is in advance development of a new tool (like a warhead) to deliver high concentrations of chemotherapy to tumours in cancer patients but directly to the target tumour. This is unlike conventional chemotherapy which is given via a drip or tablet into the bloodstream and it affects the whole body.
4. Avacta is working with multiple multi-billion dollar pharma companies on other projects.
So to be 100% clear as a large shareholder here I can tell you unlike Novacyt who's valuation is focused on PCR testing in a lab. Avacta shareholders are focused on the other therapeutic applications and the amazing fact that they have been able to use the diagnostic advantages of Affirmers to produce the most advanced and most accurate, low cost and useable anywhere Covid19 test which could sell in billions of units is a distinct advantage and unique selling point that will mean that Avacta is sure to be a multibillion-pound company.
I am taking nothing away from Novacyt, I still have a holding there. But this company has multiple dimensions which a long term investor is looking for. I am no rich quick fool, I am an investor. Fully researched and very happy with over 500,000 shares!
