His measures would affect us all directly or indirectly including RR with its global supply chain.

Like it or not, seems we are in for a fundamental shift in global trading.

Seems in the past China has been allowed to get away with stealing other people ideas making millions of people abroad unemployed as a result.

This can’t be right.

You’ve missed the point - wheeling and dealing goes on all the time. I was referring to the possibility that Trump may want America to be the main SMR supplier to the UK market.

The deal would not prevent RR seeking and establishing SMR presence in America or elsewhere.

Just an idea, not saying it’s going to happen.

Could RR be more directly impacted by the ongoing tariff disruption?

What if Trump demands UK SMRs contracts for American companies in exchange for lower UK tariffs, where would RR share price be then, this is worth thinking about in these strange times ?

Seems like those two are the same.

It’s the presence in America that China seems to want.

Given the Chinas liking for unfair trade practices, theft of intellectual property rights, copying American and European goods without first obtaining permission and selling them at home and abroad is a serious offence. If legal actions were to follow in world court concerning these illegal practices, It could mean the quick end of China as a trading nation.

Trump holds the winning hand, he’s the boss, China knows it, could cost it dear if it refuses to do as told.

No disruption in world trade need happen if China itself was to absorb the cost of new tariffs !

It would be in Chinas interest not to pass on extra costs to consumers in America and elsewhere and still do well out of it. This approach would mean China remains competitive, prices abroad would still be the same more or less, thus blocking any possible competition emerging from the American manufacturers for those goods.

This Looks to me to be the best option available to China, it would diffuse the situation and bring order and stability to the world trade.
