I was just going to post, on another thread, that the usual suspects are, as usual, back in force today, coming out from under their rocks, and then plode posts again! Says it all really!

Shaun Day at the last Town Hall meeting webinar, when talking about Havieron still being open at depth:

Hi beginner1 That's essentially correct. As it's a cross-listing, where the same shares are traded on both AIM & ASX (they're fungible), the sp should be almost identical across both exchanges, after you account for the AUD/GBP exchange rates. This is basically down to arbitrage, as traders will take advantage of any difference, as they can, of course trade the same shares on either market. There could be other slight differences due to the likes of transaction costs & liquidity, but they should all level out with the arbitrage.

IMHO, generally, very few of the financial analysts, and mainstream press, are 'fans' of gold, but it's often because they just don't understand it, nor the miners, nor indeed, natural resources in general. It's particularly the case with younger analysts and writers, who've generally preferred the more 'hip' tech sector. However, slowly, slowly, they're coming to see that it can't be avoided, but, again, maybe more because they've missed the boat already, and don't want to be seen to miss the later boats too!

@Greatland_GGP has successfully raised an additional £6.69 million through its RetailBook share offer, which was fully subscribed - reaching the €8 million maximum threshold. The #GGP offer will result in the issue of approximately 2.11 million new shares, priced at 316p each, matching the pricing achieved in the company’s ASX placing and upcoming float.

This follows news that Greatland had closed its ASX bookbuild, securing investor commitments for A$490.4 million worth of shares, marking a major milestone in its dual-listing strategy.

@ RR100 I don't know if you'll actually be advised until the shares are issued on the 20th June. You may be told by your broker/platform, but I'm guessing not. Maybe someone else has a better idea?

You really can be a fool sometimes SC. Why don't you just go back and read my post again, especially where I say, "Depending on if/when you did, will vary in terms of if you're better off, or not."!

It's really neither here nor there in the bigger course of things, but well done to those that took the plunge. I think it's fair to say that the consensus on here was to just buy in the market if you wanted shares/more shares, rather than wait to see what you might have got. For those that like a flutter on the gee-gee's, there are, as usual, a few "Gold" runners at Ascot again this year.

The most relevant though must be 'Gold Digger' running in the 2.30 race on Friday. Although, of course, there are differing connotations to the name.

You can currently get 6/1 or maybe 7/1, but it is a big field, showing as 27 runners currently.

Australia’s next big gold debutant will make a $4.4 billion splash when it arrives on the ASX this month, surpassing many of its WA mid-tier peers all uplifted by the yellow metal’s thunderous run.

Greatland Gold has locked in commitments to raise $50 million with Australian investors after landing on an offer price of $6.60 a share — a 19.5 per cent premium on the company’s share price the day before its prospectus was lodged.

The agreed rate for a slice of the Pilbara gold miner had been at the top end of the range Greatland had been shooting for, the company told the London Stock Exchange on Monday.

“The exceptional demand received for the Australian offering is testament to the quality and opportunity of Greatland’s Telfer mine and world-class Havieron brownfield development project,” chief executive Shaun Day said.

“The ASX is a natural listing venue for Greatland.”

The London-listed company took control of the famed Telfer gold mine in the Pilbara from behemoth Newmont in December last year, and has since churned out more than 90,000 ounces of gold.

Still retaining its spot as the company’s biggest backer, Newmont will offload $440m worth of Greatland shares — or about half its stake — as part of aJU secondary offer tied in with the listing deal. It was not disclosed who would take on the new shares.

With a $4.4 billion market capitalisation, Greatland will sit among the top end of WA’s mid-tier gold set when it begins trading on the ASX on June 24.

The miner will be level pegging with Capricorn Resources, and ahead of the likes of Regis Resources, Ramelius Resources and Westgold Resources.

As well as gold production, Greatland is also eyeing copper output from the undeveloped Havieron deposit it discovered in WA’s Paterson region.

Greatland also has a farm-in and joint venture arrangement with Rio Tinto’s exploration subsidiary for 1500sqkm of ground south of the two projects.

Gold’s bull run has been spurred by fresh conflict in the Middle East, taking an ounce of the precious metal to $US3415.46 ($5244.95) at 5pm local time on Monday, closing in on touching an all-time high of $US3500 achieved in April.

Brokers Barrenjoey, Canaccord Genuity and Bank of America are acting as joint lead managers. on the listing and raising.
