RE: US strategic $900m investment in Tungsten deposit 🔥7 Nov 2025 09:07
Hi Element! I know that your comment about Shaun Day getting on with it, in talking with US agencies was probably 'tongue in cheek', but I'd just add that, as I've said before, he could well have been doing so already. He mentioned this many months ago, when he stated "We have Australia's largest, and highest grade, Tungsten deposit....Clearly the world wants to diversify away from China exposure, so I think the option value of that Tungsten deposit is now really significant...I think there's some great opportunity with O'Callaghans...I've reached out to the US Government about what they'd like to do".
There have also, allegedly, been meetings in Washington recently, with several Australian mining companies, with officials from various agencies in the Trump administration, looking for ways to take equity-like stakes in companies. This has been advanced with the recent visit of Anthony Albanese.
I'm not saying that we've been involved in any way, but, having dealt with government agencies in the past myself, over potential projects, I know that this type of activity is kept very confidential, so, even if we had, it surely wouldn't have been broadcast, IMHO.
