I should have added that Havieron got very little, if any mention, in most NCM Broker ratings, apart from those from UBS until now.

It was also on BBC TV World News this morning.

I haven't seen anything new from UBS today, who have been very positive about the 'Havieron Effect' for some time now. With the latest drilling results and the mining lease news, one would expect a higher rating for sure, if there is one pending.

Australia’s largest gold producer, Newcrest Mining (ASX: NCM), has unveiled what it is calling “excellent” drill results from Greatland Gold’s (LON:GGP) Havieron gold-copper project, in the Paterson region of Western Australia.

Drilling work at the asset, kicked off in May, is being carried out and fully funded by Newcrest as part of a joint venture it signed with the London-based miner in March. That farm-in deal gives the Aussie gold producer the option to acquire 70% of the project....

My ADVFN is showing a high today of 18.14p. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but I saw 18.48p flash at open as a bid price.

Could just be the systems 'warming' up and totally insignificant. I guess we'll see at the end of the day.

The rubber stamp on the Havieron mining lease is, of course, significant news for both Greatland and Newcrest. However, it's not just significant, but also highly significant for Newcrest for other reasons.

Just look at the mining lease issues that Newcrest are having, and which may well continue, at the likes of Wafi-Golpu in Papua New Guinea. Havieron is vital for the growth plan at Newcrest, and, unlike Wafi-Golpu, Havieron is, of course, in one of the lowest risk and safest mining jurisdictions in the world. DYOR

Greatland Gold PLC (LON:GGP) said that further exploration work by partner Newcrest at the Havieron deposit at Paterson in Western Australia has indicated potential for a bulk mining [open pit] prospect.

Step-out drilling in the north-west of Havieron identified the breccia target and additional work has now expanded it to a size of 300m x 100m x 300m that is open at depth.

Greatland notes that Newcrest also pointed out higher-grade zones related to massive sulphide mineralisation were observed, while also demonstrating geological and grade continuity...

IMHO people are maybe wanting to read more into this than is the case. Personal view.

It means exactly the same and is not uncommon, especially in Australia.
