It appears that we're now in a 20p+ channel going forwards, hopefully not drifting further south, but, IMHO, ridiculously low anyway, based on the fundamentals!

IMHO I'd think it complete bonkers not to buy, or top up if you can, at these ridiculous levels!

Taylor Dart rightly mentions the geopolitical risk involved outside of Oz for Newcrest Mining, especially in it's growth projects. As I continue to mention, Newcrest and Harmony Gold’s Wafi-Golpu project continues to is face delays due to an ongoing dispute with the Papua New Guinea government.

Havieron is vital for the growth plan at Newcrest, and, unlike Wafi-Golpu, Havieron is, of course, in one of the lowest risk and safest mining jurisdictions in the world.

SUMMARY
- Newcrest Mining released its calendar year Q1 2021 results last week, reporting a slight decrease in gold production year-over-year to ~512,400 ounces.
- However, after adjusting for its Gosowong divestment in calendar year Q1 2020, gold production was actually up in the period.
- Based on the higher gold price in the period and stronger copper prices, the company enjoyed much higher margins, with all-in sustaining cost margins coming at $860/oz.
- Given Newcrest's massive reserve base and solid cost profile, I would view any dips below US$18.50 as low-risk buying opportunities.....

...Moving over to Telfer, the company saw higher production in the period, with gold production coming in at ~105,200 ounces, though copper production was down in the period. The higher gold production resulted from higher throughput, offsetting the lower head grade in the period (0.88 vs. 0.97). Given the much lower copper sales with just ~3,000 tonnes sold vs. ~4,500 tonnes in fiscal Q3 2020, all-in sustaining costs rose to $1,489/oz, translating to very slim margins for the operation at $262/oz....

...However, with the ability to rejuvenate Telfer with high-grade Havieron material and industry-leading costs, I think the PNG risk is priced into the stock at current levels...

Gold is having another run at that $1800 price today.

We have a day high currently of $1798.925, and a current price around $1795.

Artemis UP 7%
Antipa UP 2.4%

It's good to see financial journalists finally catching on about a new commodity supercycle, which some of us have been talking about for many months now, and, IMHO, which started towards the end of last year.

As you say, from a month earlier, remember Sandeep's comments on the 13th February:

"The grades we're seeing at Havieron are unique for this region and we're excited to progress in the accelerator evaluation of this opportunity."

"And the other piece as you say is how do we bring Havieron on as soon as we possibly can, now. It depends what sort of mining we're looking at. I mean if you're looking at the grades there, I mean, again we've got to do a lot more drilling, but if that becomes a potentially a high grade mine, you could bring that on sooner rather than later."

Indeed Matt, and as I stated in another thread yesterday, I don't don't see any proof, whatsoever, that GH actually SOLD anything, but I welcome anyone that can prove otherwise.... He could just have easily TRANFFERRED some shares, if any, elsewhere, or changed his shareholding in some other way.

That said, it's history anyway and all I'm interested in right now is onwards & upwards for our company! TT

Gervaise Heddle and Callum Baxter spoke to Proactive's Andrew Scott after announcing the result from their first drill hole, HAD001, at the Havieron licence in Western Australia.
Assay results from the hole have established the presence of high-grade gold with a peak of 137.69g/t or 4.4 ounces per tonne of gold.

The famous GH comment at the time, "Geologists in their 40 year career could go for 40 years and not see numbers like that!"

What's more, just in case someone has missed it somewhere over the past, nearly 3 years (heaven forbid how that's actually possible?!!), we've seen good to great, or superlative mineralisation from EVERY drill hole at the motherlode!

Good to see Mr Todorok agreeing with what most of us know already in his first paragraph - That Havieron is open in all directions and at DEPTH! It's guaranteed to get bigger, but by how much, who know's? When you see ALL of the drilling bringing up quality mineralisation, every single time, it must bring a smile to everyone's face. There is no doubt in my mind that it'll probably end up being a once in a generation, or more, motherlode.

As for the second piece, it's not completely clear, IMO, if Mr Todorok means Newcrest buying out 100% of Havieron, or 100% of GGP. As I've said many times over the past year or so, I believe that they'll certainly, at the very least, make an offer to buy out Havieron 100%, as they'll undoubtedly want full control going forward. Fair comment that it could be too expensive, but then maybe that would push them towards having to make a very nice offer that shareholders would jump at.

As always, only time will tell! GLA!

Hi speedy. Personally I don't see any reason why GH should have to explain anything, whatsoever! Whatever he did, or didn't do, as an individual investor, is a private matter, period! Would you like to publish all of your past investment history?
